I'm reading Life and Fate by Vassilij Grossman. Haunting, terrible study of totalitarianism, racism, class hate and the destructive forces of war, suspicion and fear presented in a surprisingly good novel.

Hmnm. Will read.... coincidentally, remember you're a Dostoevsky fan... read The Gambler? Very fine novel indeed... I really should continue with Asimov's Foundation at the lady's request but the narrator's voice is so awkward that I've all but given up after the first part.

(or I should get back to reading Iliad/Aeneid in the original, but that's for people who care about their degree... LOL)

I love Russian authors, but I've never read Asimov.
