KoS, last.fm tells me you're listening to Decemberists' Sons and Daughters "in 2 hours", just so you know.

Last.fm was doing that to me for a while.

I just think it's crazy that it can predict the future...it better be right!

Also, just from listening to my two Django collections, he's going to jump to 4th most listened artist on last.fm for me. LOL

Wow, that is a lot.

Yeah, they're each 2-disc collections, the first one had 50 total tracks and this one 36.

Also, there are Thelonious Monk samples on Last.fm, so I'll listen to those.

Good choice.  I really like Monk now.  My first few samples of his music weren't overly impressive, but then I listened more and grew to enjoy his style.

The first piece I heard by him was Round Midnight when I was listening to Round About Midnight by Miles. I need more music in this style.

I don't have that album or that song, so I'm not sure what to recommend.  I should probably check both out.

The album that I am sampling it from is The Columbia Years. Also, That Miles Davis album is great as well, and I think it is on Last.fm.

Ah, alright.  I'll either check it out there or just buy it, can't really go wrong with Miles.

Some tracks on the Miles album make me want to listen to it in a dark, smokey bar. Smile

Nice.  I love when an album suggests an atmosphere like that.  There are some songs which really draw a picture in my mind while listening to them, and a lot which don't.  One of my favorites of the style that does is "A Foggy Day" by Charles Mingus.

I must check out Mingus as well. I will try to go to B&N tomorrow, if I do I may come home with a lot to listen to.

Yeah, I wanted to get more Mingus this weekend while I was out, as most of the places we went to usually have several albums, but only one store had anything in stock, and it only had albums I already own.  Ah well. I'm happy with my Miles and my Monk and the Kansas which I haven't listened to yet.

I may even skip the book I intend to get (Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance) LOL

^I've heard of the book, but never bothered to check it out.  I did pick up some books at Half Price books, including Catch 22 and a collection of some Kafka short stories.

Catch 22 is one of the best books I've read, it's hilarious. I need to read it again sometime.

If only there was a place that had books and that you could check them out for a certain period of time.

I'm sure I probably will, my aunt knows what I enjoy at least as well as I do book-wise, and she said that I'd probably like it (even though she doesn't). She's introduced me to several of my favorites (Douglas Adams, Frank Herbert, Vonnegut, Lethem, etc).

Yeah! And they actually have books worth reading! I'd like to invent a place like that. Unfortunately, unless I like Michigan Chillers or encyclopedias, there isn't much to choose from at the local library.

Well, you could just go to B&N order some Starbucks and read it there.
or get it from half.com for $.70 plush S&H.
