How's Cloudkicker? A friend of mine recommended them to me a while back considering we're both huge fans of Meshuggah, Textures and the likes.

If you like Meshuggah, you will like Cloudkicker. All his albums are free, so there should be no excuse for anyone not to hear them at least once.

Man, cloudkicker is insane. Extremely technical... basically meshuggah with more post rock and less (no) vocals?
Very good stuff, you owe it to yourself to download it from their site.

You do.

I may have to check out Cloudkicker, I have a passing fancy for Meshuggah.

I was about to check'em out a few years back, but never got any further. The samples I have heard from them was great from what I remember though.

Check out Textures as well, they're like a more melodic Meshuggah. Their Drawing Circles album from 2006 is a good starting point, featuring some of their very best songs.

I never overdosed on RIO/Avant, although judging by my charts one could think I had long time ago. LOL

Yeah, thankfully it's a varied enough genre that it would be pretty tough to OD on it, but still...I'm not stifling my love of Canterbury or Krautrock either. Tongue

Yeah, both Canterbury and Kraut are among my favorites as well. Smile

Seems like most fans of Avant/Zeuhl like both, and if they don't like both they generally like at least one.  I know James is a HUGE Krautrock fan, but he's not much into the Canterbury scene. Wink

You mean the opposite?

I can't even remember James listening to a Kraut album. LOL

I am known to be sarcastic from time to time. LOL

Textures are a great band, although it took me a bit of time to warm up to them... Ive only heard Silhouettes though.

And some Cloudkicker.

Drawing Circles is more varied and melodic, less 'in your face' than Silhouettes was. Excellent album!

He just don't know how to appreciate the finer intricacies of Damo mumbling in a microphone.
