- Mario Lemieux led the 2002 team on the ice, which is where it matters
- Was wondering where Mario was while all this drooling over Gretzky was going on, considering he's the one with an actual medal
- Mario Lemieux was better than Wayne Gretzky, an opinion, but one I'll argue to the grave
- Luongo played poorly in the game today and is very lucky he had a great defense in front of him preventing rebound opportunities
- Shea Weber's entire defensive strategy seems to be built around crosschecking, but hey, if your getting away with it then why not.  What a shot that guy has though.
- The Red Wings could use a year off from the playoffs
- Goalie pads have gotten way out of hand; Ryan Miller looked like a shrunken head ontop of a pile of gym mats in the post game interview
- Olympic hockey > NHL hockey.  Get rid of fighting, standing around in the blue paint, and allow the goalies to play the puck anywhere, NHL.
- If anyone understands curling or why it was on either NBC or CNBC at all hours of the day everyday please explain

Congrats to the Great White North for almost (so close) sweeping gold in their home sports of hockey and curling.

Who cares, we won - jackass.

Didn't see the overtime goal, had to go to work. Saw the 2-2 goal with 24 seconds left. He scores!
That was fun.  Congratulations Team Canada

^^ I think most Norwegians are more than happy with 9 gold medals, 8 silver and 6 bronze. And congrats to Canada. Is 14 gold medals a new record?

EDIT: I just checked it. The old record was 13 gold medals (USSR, Innsbruck 1976 and Norway, Salt Lake City 2002).

Don't think I complained anywhere about Canada winning, actually congratulated them at the end.  Just giving some opinions about the whole event.

I can show national pride, can't I?

Thanks for the congrats, but I hate it when people nitpick about the smallest details.

[edit] - although that is a wholesomely ironic statement coming from a guy who has "reviewed" prog albums. I guess we're all nitpicky. LOL

Somehow I meant it in a loving way, I swear TongueWink

I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Deadspin really did hit the nail on the head... there is a reason NBC is the number 4 network.  The Olympics just illustrate all the problems there.

in case we need another...  I can't believe this.  Is Hollywood THAT dry of new ideas to retread classics, with iconic  title characters... duh...  no wonder NBC has fallen off a cliff so to speak.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Dermot Mulroney is NBC's new Jim Rockford.

Entertainment  |  Film  |  Television

In his first regular TV role, Mulroney is set to play the iconic private eye in the network's updated take on the hit 1970s drama that starred James Garner in the title role.

The new Jim Rockford is described as "slightly crumpled, wry humored, cynical, world weary, compassionate when it's called for and easily irritated by morons."

His troubled past includes doing some time as a convict and as a cop.

Aside from an arc on NBC's "Friends" in 2003, "My Best Friend's Wedding" co-star Mulroney has been focused on features, most recently appearing in "Burn After Reading."

NBC's "Rockford Files" was written by "House" creator David Shore, who is executive producing with Steve Carell.
