Finished :

this is were bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers (Flea cites this album as one of his favourites), Alice in Chains and Jane's Addiction found their inspiration and this post-punk band paved the way to "alternative" rock.

Currently :

Now that's "classy" music ! Unusual Sinatra, in a sad mood...

APB ?

A Scottish band from the mid-80s. Their debut, "Something to Believe" tries to manage the punk and funk tension like GoF, but sometimes the balance isn't as well maintained. But then, that makes their work feel more varied and interesting. The reissue of the album comes loaded with bonus tracks (21 of them with quite a few of them being live ones).

Also, I've heard some Au Pairs stuff and it also has a similar vibe.

ok, thanks a lot. Punk + funk = James Chance and the Contortions, the album 'buy' is a must-have !! Saw him + Les Contorsions (french backing band) two days ago, it was fantastic...

this album has probably worked it's way into my top 10 prog albums list... beautiful.. not the kind of music to get revved up for a hot date.. but then again... that isn't exactly my life these days is it LOL

I just have my collection on shuffle since the threat of aftershocks makes it impossible to comfortably sit through a complete album.
