Now that I've heard all of their albums, I can't believe that I left off VDGG!

I don't think so. It's not a masterpiece but it has right to at least 3 stars. For me it's very better than pros&cons.

I suppose Brian Eno... even though he isn't a band per say. Ambient or rock oriented, I always like what he's doing. That's after thinking about it for a while... I mean even Magma has Merci... so. Even with Eno, his collab with John Cale was a tad on the cheesy side, but I still appreciate it for what it is.

The problem with music is that it is a personal thing...and there in lies the problem. We should be more realistic about music. In my life music at an earlier age was percieved to be good, bad or indeifferent. The older i got the more i enjoyed the music i didn't like, but i became more insulated in the stuff i did. No problem there, however to claim any band made any album %100 is shear nonsense. Every abnd has made briliant, average and bad music on the same album. No album deserves anything other than It was good for me. And you can't argue with that.
But don't give me the crap about certain bands, or albums being brillaint all the time...it just doesn't happen...good god i've heard so much stuff in my life to know this. Except The New Seekers...see.

Now, here is a good load of argumentated crap.. You are absolutely right when you said that the problem with music is that it is a personal thing: it is (IMO) about the feeling you get when you are listening to something and therefore I can absolutely love Merci for instance (which i DON'T!) and think it is one 100% of perfection whereas another one can think it is the absolute downfall in Magma's career.
Another thing, this thread is about bands that haven't created anything less than good in your opinion (translated that is three stars, I reckon), I really can't believe so many of you don't have ány band they like and think of as a band that hasn't made any album less than 3 stars...
So don't you go bullsh*tting me about no album being brilliant all the time, 'cause to me, Brave is...!

From my favourites Ozric Tentacles and Oceansize come close.
Others: LTE, GY!BE, OSI, Gordian Knot & Epica
Short discographies as you can see.

Everything depends on definitions: how we define "wrong" ? Yes, it's a personal thing, but listen to GTR and you'll have an idea of what I think is wrong. So both Steve Hackett and Steve Howe are not in the list.

I think everything Pink Floyd released is brilliant and i enjoy all of it, not many bands I can say that for, find it hard to pick a fave album as well.

King Crimson to me...even though "The Contrukction Of Light" and "Beat" are less interesting to me... Pink Floyd would be another good choice, probably...but I don't like "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" and "More" very much...

I hate to see people posting they're favorite eras of the band in this thread. Seriously. I'd LOVE to say King Crimson, but I only thoroughly enjoy the music before Belew. They've, in my opinion, "gone wrong".
Led Zeppelin - One of the few bands who's line up remained consistent as well as their sound (ok maybe not the very last album) Egg - Even though they released only 3 albums, each one is incredible to listen to. My favorite of Canterbury. maudlin Of The Well - Honestly. Every release tries something new but still has the band's distinct sound. Mahavishnu ... oh nevermind. I don't like funk..

Definitely Pain of Salvation and I have to say Dream Theater. I think DT needs to change it up a bit, but I greatly enjoy every album they have put out. Also both bands seem to be incredible live.

The Mars Volta, definitely. Every single release from them is near-flawless. They do seem to be going downhill slightly, but they're still great.

The live improvs from the CoL tour more than make up for the studio album.

Even all of my favorites have done something I don't like at some point (Yes, ELP, Floyd, Tull)...I might say Peter Gabriel, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Led Zeppelin as the only artists where each and every one of their albums is a masterpiece, or at least close enough...
