I know that feeling.

I was going to try tackling my Cost homework, but I can't even think enough.
Maybe I'll just be really lazy today.

I think I'll do business homework today.
|
Intro to Business or what?
I have alot of homework to do this weekend, but I can't do any right now. I'm feeling a bit down today, not for any good reason.
|
Yeah, business 101, it's an easy class, it is just a dull subject.
|
Yeah, definitely. I'm glad I'm in all the upper-level stuff now, but at the same time there are some disadvantages.
|
I'm in computer science, and I thought that taking a little business would be good idea, it fulfilled a required credit anyway.

That's good... and bad.

Well, I think it's actually always been less powerful than the other front USB port. I've never plugged my external into it before, but when I plug my Zune into it it usually syncs/charges more slowly than when I plug it into the other. I've got two more on the front I've never even noticed/tried anything in before, too. My computer has like 12 USB ports altogether I think.
|
Wow, nice. Guess it doesn't matter then.
|
Yeah, but if the front ones all fail it'll be an incredibly horrible pain to plug anything into the back ones. One of the few downsides of my computer, the tower is a beastly huge thing.
|
That's true. I'm forced to plug in the back of my computer for this desktop
|
Yeah, if I ever have to do that, every time I want to plug something in I'll have to pull my tower out from under the computer desk here at school, because there's barely even room for my feet under here between the tower and the subwoofer, and my arms aren't long enough to reach behind the tower well. Thankfully the sub doubles as a footrest.

I could use a good programmer. I have a big effort coming up which requires a lot of C and Visual Studio and my skills in those areas are crap and nil, respectively.

Hmm, sounds similar to my skill in them. I had to take a class in C++, didn't learn much in it, and forgot most of it since then. Programming is definitely not my field of expertise.

Jon - just get a USB hub to plug into a back USB port, so you have accessible USB ports again.

I can learn to program just fine. The hard part is applying it. The only thing that I hate is that every class I've taken has been in some form of Basic, and I am quite sick of it. I liked teaching myself some python and C++ better.

As far as I know, 3 of 4 of the front USB ports still work. I know at least one does, and that's all I really ever need to use at once.

My view of our public education system is pretty cynical. I'm still taking classes that are completely useless, and I'm getting close to my Bachelor's degree.

I have been wondering when I'll learn something useful. The only class that has really taught me anything so far is my philosophy class.

Same here. Most of the classes I have left to take, I think are completely useless for what I want to do. Unfortunately we have to take them, it's generally annoying. Ah well, I've gotta go to German now, one of the classes I enjoy. ![Tongue Tongue](smileys/smiley17.gif) Be back in a bit.

What are the classes you guys find useless? I'm curious.

Actually,
most of my experiences of classes that I have found useless were
largely because of the teacher. And also, let's just say that I'm
only going to end up using about 5% of everything that I've learned in
college in my actual career. That strikes me as too much useless
information. I can't say I've actually learned anything of substance that I found interesting in about half of the classes I've ever taken. It doesn't help that my English 371 class is stuff I already know, and that classes I've taken in the past (such as Math 112, Finite Mathematics) were similar in that I had already known a great deal of the information and that the information has no practical knowledge to me being a Tax Accountant. Alot of it strikes me as just being a waste of time, a mere formality that is necessary for me to go through only to be obtaining a piece of paper so I can do my job. Thankfully.. my college experience has been mostly good, I suppose; it's just that this semester is really annoying except for one class. I try not to look at it negatively.
