I used to love Hot Rats, but I'm fairly ambivalent about Zappa these days. And One Size Fits All was never a particularly good album.

It did, didn't it?

So I was on last.fm, and I was curious how compatible it considered musical tastes of me and Scott since we disagree on several artists.  But apparently:

"Your musical compatibility with rushfan4 is Very High

Music you have in common includes Caravan, Gentle Giant, Yes, King Crimson and Camel."

I see some others on your charts which I particularly enjoy as well.

Mmmmm, it did.

Guize, what should I buy next: We're Only In It For The Money (Zappa) or Udu Wudu

Indeed it is.  Also, Üdü Wüdü has a lot more Klaus Blasquiz on it than the Zappa album. Wink

If I have to type the name of the album any more tonight though, I'm leaving out the Ü and the ü's, it's inconvenient to type.  LOL

Typing out umlauts is a huge waste of time, they're only there in the first place because Vander is pretentious.

Argh, why did I just watch a whole episode of House I'd already seen? That was silly.

I've gotten used to typing some of them regularly in German, but in Magma album/song titles it's taken to a whole new level.

I forgot about your German, I was wondering why you had some of those committed to memory. I too think the insane amounts of umlauts is pretentious.

The British The Office doesn't strike me as funny as the American one.

Some of them I've learned just to type Magma albums, such as Ë, ë, ï, Ü, ê, but ah well.

Sweet, my roommate's listening to something on his headphones (loud enough for me to hear it over my music) with autotune'd vocals, completely sampled/computer generated backing, and no real talent involved.

It's pretty bad. For some reason the British eat up somebody saying something inappropriately sexual and OH MAN ISN'T THAT AWKWARD! The American Office has the same problem sometimes with confusing cringing with humor, particularly in the early seasons.

Meh.  The stuff's bad enough that I don't even know how subjective it is anymore.  Most of the stuff that people eat up so eagerly these days...I think I can objectively say it's got no true artistic merit.  The people (note: not the artists or the musicians) are truly only in it for the money.  Every song sounds so similar...if you gave me samples from a few different groups I'd probably not be able to tell you who was who for most of them.  Ah well, I put on my headphones for Ash Ra Tempel, so I'm safe for now.
