ANY REQUESTS APART FROM ATOMIC ROOSTER FOR NEXT WEEK'S SHOW?

LIkely to be played.
Got a promo of Anthony Jackson new but  first(?) solo album. Also l might sample the latest Vampire Weekend album Contra - a band that appeals to my pop music side. More from Metheny and Molvaer's new albums. Also having checked out Sid Smith's review (found at his blog Postcards from the yellow room) for the Pye/Dawn Records 1967-75 , yet another 3 CD cheapo boxset (the other 7 or 8 have ranged from good to excellent, so will this keep up the musical quality?), and ordered this  from Amazon.UK. In turn I've taken up Amazon's suggestion of getting the 5 CD boxset Perfumed Garden (half price here)- celebrating the eclectic prog and psychedelic music that John Peel played before he joined Radio One. And of course a track from the fourth Boston album - to counter More Than A Feeling being destroyed by the persistence of Barclaycard/Visa ads on UK TV, (btw have the Honda ads with Battles' remixed, disppearaed with theirneed to recall motors?).

Further ahead, made contact with Advent's Alan Benjamin so expect some new material from them -  love their first eponymous albuma wonderful fusion of them + GG, Holdsworthian guitarwork and do I hear 80's Go West influences as well?

I still didn't have this Jaga Jazzist new album, will be interesting to hear it on air!

I got this new Omar Rodriguez-Lopez album this week, very unusual one. I don't know if he is in area of your interest, but this new album could be possible interesting for you. Nothing in common with his band (The Mars Volta) or his previous works. There is almost acoustic trio (guitar, bass and Mexican female singer ,singing in Spanish), and music is kind of folk-Latin acoustic ballades. Very minimalistic sound, but with it's warm, specific atmosphere.

For me they are one of grunge cornerstone (beside of Pear Jam), at least in their early classic albums. This new one is a bit different - almost no more grunge "dirty" sound, more usual metal music. But in general style is similar to their beginning.

Toy Matinee     remind me Elliott Murphy. When we lived some years in Southern Europe, he was quite regular there with live shows (as well as in France), but haven't heard nothing from him in UK or N. Europe for years!
Lucifer's Friend's debut is excellent for me. To be honest, I don't like their later albums too much though.

I wasn't aware fo their later albums. Inga Rumpf seems to be a number of German heavy rock bands from 69 - 74.

Have you heard Kevin Gilbert's rock opera The Shaming Of The True, IMHO miles better than any other - and I used to argue hard for Quadraphenia being in the NO 1 spot for 30 years.
