Topic: Phideaux is a god Posted: February 16 2010 at 05:06 |
I had recently gotten Phideaux's The Great Leap and it is FREAKING AMAZING! The compositions are so simple and yet so proggy, and the mixing, and the instruments, and EVERYTHING! I wanted to know that I'm not alone here so I opened this appreciation thread so maybe even Phideaux himself could come in for a chat

I wouldn't have phound Phideaux if it wasn't for this site. While I wouldn't characterize myself as a phanatic, he's pretty much on my lists of artists where I had to go for the whole catalog once I tried one and keep up with the new releases.

I was introduced via the site as well, and Number Seven is an amazing album.

Phideaux I'm sure will be flattered if and when he comes across this thread. Though, he isn't as active on here right now, it seems.
I'm actually still quite unfamiliar with his work, though ''Ghost Story'' has become a favorite of mine. He IS quite talented.
I should go ahead and get the rest of his works like I keep telling myself I will.

I started with Doomsday Afternoon, which I find to be fantastic and still listen to regularly and then I continued with Ghost Story (very good) and Chupacabras (again, very good) and the rest along with the release of Number 7, a favourite of mine of 2009 (and overall).

I didn't get what you meant there... if you meant that I introduced him to you then I'm more than happy, and you're welcome

I think he's asking for the best work by Phideaux to start listening the band...Well I did start with Doomsday Afternoon and I think it'ld be a nice choice to get started with the music of Phideaux.

Although The Great Leap features poppier songs and yet they are very proggy, so I think that's the entry point for fans of say, Yes, Pink Floyd, and IQ.
