"Pictures at an Exhibition" - 2-Disc Edition?

   Last year, when I was starting to get into Emerson, Lake & Palmer, someone I met at Princeton Model Congress lent me their copy of "Pictures at an Exhibition".  He did not give me the packaging, just two CDs in a small plastic case.  I burned it to my computer and returned the discs to him.  After listening to the album I loved it; now, having become a big ELP fan, this album ranks as my 3rd favorite by them.  However, having researched the album on Wikipedia later on, I saw that the release was only one disc, not two.  I have not seen the owner since, nor did I have his number, so I couldn't ask him how he got a two-disc set.  Does anyone know if this is a new version that was only released in certain areas, or is the second disc simply a bootleg recording?  I have to say, however, that the sound quality on disc 2 is very good, something you don't find with most bootlegs.
Disc 1:  1-12.  Original album tracklisting; 13.  "Pictures at an Exhibition (Studio Recording)
Disc 2:  1-11.  Live performance of all parts of PaaE; 12.  "The Barbarian"; 13.  "Knife-Edge"; 14.  "Rondo" (more than 18 minutes long!); 16.  "Nutrocker"

	The wikipedia page says that the second disc is a studio re-recording of the live set, which was released in 2001 with the original album as a 2CD version. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pictures_at_an_Exhibition_(album)) Hope that helps!

	The studio re-recording is the last track on the first disc of the version I have, directly following the original album. The second disc is a whole new concert, with a live rendition of PaaE and those four other tracks I mentioned in the first post.

	Wow, that looks about right. Thank you for finding this! As a note to all other readers, I'd highly recommend trying to get a copy of this deluxe edition. The second disc is phenomenal, particularly the long version of "Rondo", which is an amazing listen, and every bit as "pretentious" as the critics say -- anotherwards, incredibly interesting.

	No problem, glad I could help! I saw a copy of this remaster and also of the BSS deluxe edition remaster a while back, the BSS remaster was a 2009 one. I was going to buy one, but they were fairly expensive to I decided to pass on it. I've only got a regular CD copy of Pictures At An Exhibition though, so I'll have a look around for this one.

	The only live recording of ELP I've listened with decent sound quality from the early 70's are Pictures... (the original release) and Live at the Isle of Wight... 	The Deluxe edition that I have in my possession also has a remaster of PAAE from Isle Of Wight festival 1970. Superb stuff and essential for any ELP fan. btw the Deluxe edition of BSS is not very good and there are also deluxe editions of Welcome Back My Friends and Works (Vols 1 and 2). WBMFTSTNE is worth getting for the quality of the remaster.
