Shining discography:
Where the Ragged People Go (2001) -- jazz Sweet Shanghai Devil (2003) -- more experimental jazz In the Kingdom of Kitsch You Will Be a Monster (2005) -- damn, this is an amazing album -- sort of jazz with electronics and the odd bit of metal/noise Grindstone (2007) - more noisy, more metallic but still jazzy Blackjazz (2010) - a brutal noise fest but more metallic and includes a cover of 21st Century Schizoid Rico (or he will be afterwards)
David may actually appreciate the new one seeing as he li3ks t3h m3tulz!111!!111!111!1!!!11

Ugh. So many short pieces, so many individual tabs to open.

Do that. They certainly fit the term "progressive". Every album is completely different. They sound like a new band now. I'm still not sure I like their new direction... but we'll see how it pans out with further listens. They seem to have been listening to Pendulum a lot.

It is. I enjoy it but I think I ultimately prefer In the Kingdom of Kitsch Rico Will Be a Cobbler.

I like the samples I've heard, usually I don't like that kind of music though.

I'm officially a sad individual and Henners will hate me forever.
I'm enjoying Guns 'n' Roses Civil War.
I used to listen to Use Your Illusion I and II all the time in my teenage years... so it's kind of one of those tracks I still enjoy. A guilty pleasure.

I wouldn't have expected that!
I can't stand GnR. I used to love Appetite For Destruction five years ago or so.

They did some good stuff back in the day. Besides, it was on the radio. I don't have the track anywhere on my computer or near it or anything. It'd make my laptop blow up, much like Joel's does when he installs WoW.

Rico won't get through the whole of Blackjazz. I predict about a minute, maybe two, into the first track.

I'm letting it play, it's not repulsive, but I'm already doing other things in parallel, like reading or watching Luge.

There is hope. That's a very metal album and you don't find it repulsive.

There's quite a nice jazzier track amongst them... still heavy but more jazzy for sure.

Think so, yeah. When I say jazzy, it's still metal but it's jazzier than the rest of the album.
