Is there anyone in the team who is familiar with the solo albums of Guigou Chenevier (except Chris Syz)

Forgot to mention: Jean-Paul Prat released, under the name Masal (the name of his 1982 album, which means Luck in Hebrew), a new album called Galgal (Wheel in Hebrew).

I eagerly await this new one's release!  their debut was amazing!
how are the other side-projects?  I have a feeling that Stern (Chuck Stern of Time Of Orchids) is probably interesting.  I like Zs to a degree.  what of the others?

I see you love Miriodor too? I think I'll purchase Jongleries Élastiques and Troisième avertissement tomorrow. Are they great?

A man after my own heart :) Do you like Rimbaud? Mallarme is my favorite poet [he was strongly influenced by Baudelaire]. But I still have to read English translations, so I'm sure I'm not experiencing the words in their full richness...:(

Yes, they're both great, especially Jongleries Élastique!  [Many think its their best!]
Enjoy!

I love Rimbaud, at least some of his stuff. Not everything he did. I've never read Mallarme, but it sounds like one I'll be checking soon. I don't know if you've read them, but Roy Campbell's translations of Fleurs du mal are refleting the original ideas very well.

Gabriel, are you into post-rock [w/ avant flourishes]? I ask because i recently recommended a band to ZART based on Myspace samples. I just received the whole disk today and I think it would suit PR better, but I need some more opinions before I recommend it to them. Are you interested?

Be well -

claire

Yes, I am. But I'm not an expert. If you send it, I'd be glad to give on opinion on it.

btw way Gabriel: Baudelaire! I can't believe I'm seeing that here! I went to visit his grave & pay homage in Paris. I also did a page on him [in English] on my site. There's a picture of the gravestone in a Flash piece I did regarding that visit also [music by Ella: "April in Paris"...'Twas true, but how could I resist? ;)]

The Québécois progressive/avant-garde label will probably reissue the Miriodor albums, even Rencontres, Miriodor and 3rd Warning, which have all been discontinuated for a long time (several years)

Also, is anybody familiar with the works of Ze Bigue Band du Plato?

Their s/t disk & 3rd Warning are still available at Actuelle in Canada:

Oh. I didn't know. the self-titled on Amazon for $40 (too expensive for me), but Masino offered it to me today! Smile
As for Third Warning, it's available on ReR and Actuelle, but they won't make no copy of it no more, and Cuneiform/Wayside have sold all their copies.

And I'm quite excited to hear Rencontres

I don't know if this is of interest for other people than me but, I sent a message to Cuneiform to ask if they planned to reissue the Miriodor albums Rencontres, Miriodor and Third Warning. I personally really love this band and have all their albums except these. I would have liked to have a physical copy of them but they answered and said there's not enough interest for making another 500 copies of those albums. Disapprove

 I guess...

lets see

Eskaton  - 4 Visions  - Audio restoration from the original master tapes and mastering + about 25 min of bonus tracks  - I am extremly happy with the result which shows a significant improvment over the previous edition

Xing Sa -
Creaton de l'Univers  - an offshoot of Setna but less mellow and more raw

Soft Machine - Live In Hamburg 1973 cd/ dvd - after some searching and digging the original stereo radio broadcast tapes were unearthed and miraculously synced up with the video   - the visuals are nothing short of stunning and now boast a nice stereo sound -wooopeee !

Dave Willey & Friends - Currently mixing this album with guests like Deborah Perry Elaine Di Falco Mike Johnson Dave Kerman and Hugh Hopper - no label yet and we hope to find a friendly home to this album

so that's all folks Wink

I'm most excited about the Eskaton and the Soft Machine, I'm eagerly awaiting the release of both of those.
