James, mailbox full Tongue
I've found some great translations of Baudelaire's poems.
Les mains, les pieds balancés
Sur tant de mers, tant de planchers,
Un marin mort,
Il dormira

Did you check his re-ups, Robgnosis?

I also haven't forgotten.  I am nursing a cold at the moment and my sinuses are not the best so music or any type of noise really doesn't do much for me right now.

And Henners should read Kurt Vonnegut's "The Sirens of Titan" even though he claims he doesn't like Vonnegut.  That novel is obviously a big influence on Douglas Adams (and he says so himself in an interview).

Now there's something you and I have in common, James:

Illness.  Dead

Also, what re-ups?  I'm too lazy (or can think of a hundred better things to do?) to plow through 30 pages of unread shred.  Embarrassed

Also, the PA category in which Kayo Dot is located is called Experimental/Post Metal. Placing them there does not suggest similarity to Isis, Neurosis, etc (though I agree a more advanced tagging system would be useful).

Ah, just saw this.

Hmmm, Fear Draws Misfortune has its moments but I prefer Present's latest over all of those.

^ My rankings are of personal enjoyment. Present and Miriodor are too "chamber" for me (I seem not to digest this kind of avant except for UZ).

Also, James, were you the person who recommended Shining? They're excellent. I look forward to listening their 2010 album.

So I was working on the bar last night, and I got chatting to an older guy who asked me if I knew Yes. Naturally I said I did, and we got on to the topic of prog and classic rock. He thought it was nice to see youth interested in prog, and I thought it was nice to talk to someone who shared some common musical leanings, as prog is not widely popular in NZ. Anyway, he offered me to borrow his copy of TFTO, and I told him to visit this site.

Yeah.
Morning all.

Ah but they do an awesome cover of UZ's Jack the Ripper. Wink  So it's basically UZ. LOL

And yes, I did recommend Shining.  Their new one though... be careful. LOL  What have you heard by them so far?
