Just finished this, cranked up in my room:
However, I started with No Shadow of Turning and then I began the album as meant, finishing with the always stunning guitar solo from An Evarlasting Kingdom

Bought it when I was 19 and still love this album. I have always listened to country as long as I have been hearing rock. It was always played in my house in the 60's when I was a kid and for me I Can't Stop Loving You and He'll Have to Go, Pub With No Beer are just as good as Jumpin' Jack Flash when the mood gets me

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Another band that blends death metal (more post-metal in this case) with acoustic folk is Agalloch.

This album is truly amazing. One of the best folk albums I ever heard. Plus vocals in flemish, english and french !
Currently putting my ears on this one, the last album issued by this PHENOMENAL artist :

I saw half-priced discs from this guy and was intrigued by the contrast between the look of a rapper and the hold of a trumpet. What does it sound like ? In fact, as I mentioned previously we don't have an exhaustive knowledge of all records released on our planet.

I think Chris is amazing...he is from New Orleans and as most native artists there started playing early, like at 11 or so. He went to Berklee, recorded a few albums (this is his best one IMO). Since this one he has been doing more group work with other New Orleans jazz ensembles.
I personally hear a lot of Miles in Chris's playing......which is a good thing. If you like contemporary jazz it will be a good buy for you.
Enjoy
