My favourite thing about the disc is how it perfectly blends the tech parts into the acoustic sections. I haven't heard any other album that so perfectly blends metal into folk. The playing is all brilliant too. |

Just finished this, cranked up in my room:
However, I started with No Shadow of Turning and then I began the album as meant, finishing with the always stunning guitar solo from An Evarlasting Kingdom

Another band that blends death metal (more post-metal in this case) with acoustic folk is Agalloch. They're one of the most underrated bands on the site.Oh, and if you don't have every Opeth album you're missing out on extremely awesome music |

Bought it when I was 19 and still love this album. I have always listened to country as long as I have been hearing rock. It was always played in my house in the 60's when I was a kid and for me I Can't Stop Loving You and He'll Have to Go, Pub With No Beer are just as good as Jumpin' Jack Flash when the mood gets me

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

I've got all of their albums and both DVD's now I was going to order Ashes Against The Grain, but I wasn't really impressed by the Agalloch samples I heard. |

I personally hear a lot of Miles in Chris's playing......which is a good thing. If you like contemporary jazz it will be a good buy for you.
Enjoy
