Technically,  saying there is greatness is equal in truth to one saying there isn't greatness. There is no truth in expressing either.
Sorry Rico.  It just frustrates me to no end the negativity that comes from these guys.  Look back at Shred Room number 1.  That is why I started this separate room.  I could not stand all of the negative sh*t that went on in the Suede Room.

My second favorite RIO band (first is UZ)

I respectfully disagree, my favorite is still good ole Henry Cow.

To be honest, gottagetintogetout pissed me off with his use of the word overrated to describe The Wall.  If there is one word that is always going to set me off that is the one.  Following it up with bashing DT just added fuel to the fire.

I agree with you to some extent, although to be fair I do enjoy Scenes From a Memory for what it is.

I say let these feeling deflate, we (here) or others (elsewhere) are still gonna pick on each other's tastes, jokingly or not, until we die or get bored and do something else.

I didn't catch what happened, at least in the last few pages, that made you say it.

That is close-minded, I think. I may not like Dream Theater but appreciate a lot of other progressive rock bands.

Yes, even UZ. I prefer the jazzier leanings of HC to the chamber rock of UZ.

The Wall isn't overrated, IMO. I think it is a little over popular though.

I find no merit in the Wall, but in the end of course it's just personal taste.

And you also found no merit in the Beatles until recently.  Give it time young padawan, and your eyes and ears will be opened to the greatness that is The Wall.

That is part of the reason why I like the SR, plenty of different tastes here, it is just nice to be able to say something that could otherwise start a flame war somewhere else. I don't know how many times we have been discussing an album and somebody drops in to tell us it sucks. LOL

I like Pink Floyd, so I'm pretty sure that's not the problem.

The problem with the Beatles is I never sat down and gave their later stuff (being key) an honest chance. The album that really turned me onto them was The White Album. If it wasn't for that... I'd still like them, just not as much.

I personally only can listen to the second disc, but I still think it is a very well made album.

I was joking man... I said I don't have idea of what was happened to Scott... but then... of course I'm joking, this is the just for fun section right?... I know there are hundreds of DT fans that do not give a sh*t about prog rock in general and many prog rock fans that do not like DT at all... so... back to the topic... again... I'm the leader of the troopers of DT fans... so...

I won't say it's not well-made, I just think it's essentially a Roger Waters solo album (though... not near as much as the Final Cut, which I don't like even more).

The only Pink Floyd album I really enjoy is Animals. Meddle is great too.

(Okay, maybe I shouldn't have said that.)
