All of these free downloads from The Enid came at a perfect time.  I am currently listening to all of my Enchant albums, so The Enid will be next alphabetically.

I think Etron Fou Leloublan is the only original RIO band I never checked yet.

You people are idiots.  Just because you can't understand the greatness of certain albums doesn't make them suck you know.  Trust me I could probably come in here and write every post about how sh*tty all of your RIO/avant bands are.  But it is kind of pointless.  If you can't understand the greatness of Images and Words you have no business posting on a prog rock website.

Yeah, you're right.
I try to give my opinion without bashing the albums I don't like.

So essentially what you're saying is that people who aren't fans of one particular album, even if they've tried it several times and still don't enjoy it, aren't prog fans, and furthermore aren't allowed to post their opinions on it (within certain bounds, at least)?

That is also true...
Devil's advocate I am here.
And by saying "how sh*tty all of your RIO/avant bands are", you're doing the same.

I'm saying you have no business being on a Prog ROCK site.  The stuff you guys listen to isn't rock.  I honestly have no idea what most of it is doing on this site.  It just pisses me off to know end though when all of you chamber rock and jazz fans have nothing nice to say about the stuff that does belong here, which is progressive rock.  And yes, progressive metal is a branch of progressive ROCK.

Oy, Scott. *mimics hug*

Technically,  saying there is greatness is equal in truth to one saying there isn't greatness. There is no truth in expressing either.

In that post, yes I am.  But as a general rule I don't show up in every f**king thread and bash DT or Pink Floyd because I don't like them.

I respectfully disagree, my favorite is still good ole Henry Cow.

Sometimes I wonder why PA tries to limit itself to rock only.

Well, let me use myself as an example.  I don't like Dream Theater.  I've tried listening to more than one of their albums, none of which did much for me.  I do like Liquid Tension Experiment, Rush, Yes, King Crimson, Kansas, Genesis, Pink Floyd, etc.  Yes, I also like the chamber rock and jazz, along with at least a little bit of everything from most of the genres.  Most of us who enjoy the stranger side of music don't show up in every thread to bash bands we don't like.  It's disrespectful to the bands and to other members' opinions, just as is stereotyping all the fans of the stranger stuff as jerks who don't consider other people's opinions worthy.

Your point was to respect each other's musical tastes, if I read your previous post well.
Even if I dislike DT I don't go on bashing DT fans and all. I may JOKE on it SOMETIMES, but I don't intend to be mean, and I never was mean to someone here about that.
I think if you don't like Avant-Prog and RIO, it's your tastes, we can't argue on that. But you can't say people who like this kind of music shouln't be here.
