I thought recently Metheny lost some of the warmth I associated with the first 15 years releases. If you beleive the publicity for Orchestrion then this was project he put his heart into over a number of years.

IMHO ,supporting Allan Holdsworth's argument that two musicians/stars together inhibit each other, not wanting to show off too much. Would agree wrt Mehldau - seems a pairing brought about because of a common record label. Prefer Mehldau as soloist or with his trio.  Saw Metheny & Mehldau in Birmingham a couple of summers ago, I was not impressed.

I listened few more times this nes NPM, I like it more now. But again, few excellent compositions, and some too ... rounded for me.

Really on too few listens putting this show together, only felt 3 4 tracks were suitable for the mood I'm hoping to create. But now more relaxed with it as a fan rather than a DJ trying to find airplay material
