Oh, so I got my amp today. Keyboard that is four octaves higher than normal+delay+distortion+max gain=NOIZE! Now I just need to find a piezo disk so I can make a contact mike and really rock out. I guess guitars must output a lot less than my digital piano, because I only have a piddly 10 watt amp and it's still LOUD.

It's cool, I keep it down to a reasonable level. It just surprised me that even though it's the smallest amp I could find it still puts out so much. Are 50 watt amps just for being able to play in public? I'm also trying to figure out how to work an old tape recorder into this.

And going through this has made me learn something mindblowing: did you know that any pair of headphones alsoworks as a microphone? A pretty terrible microphone, but even still! I don't even understand it!

Aren't they essentially the same thing? Except one is specifically for picking up noise while the other is made for projecting it?

Yeah, that's what blows my mind. It's what a contact mike is: a piezo speaker used as a mike.

Even with good study music playing I'm almost completely failing to study any microbiology.  This is absurd.
