I think it is a cello.

Thanks.

First one has an acoustic and a 12 string Fender XII electric, and the second one is a Fender Telecaster.

Not on the first note, but on the second, when one note changes, there's something 'glimmering' in the sound which I think only an organ can do.

This is some of the instruments playd by Kerry electric piano, organ, mellotron, vibraphone, Moog, piano, celeste, clavichord, harpsichord some of them maybe

Cello or viola I think. And yes, the organ is mentioned. But the list of instruments is not complete. There is a bassoon being used in the title track, but it gets no mention with any of the band members.

I guess you're right. Clarinet, no saxophone as I thought before.

The first one sounds electric. Great song BTW.
The second maybe semi - acoustic.
But I don't know for sure.
I'm not a guitar expert.

It was a serious and good question, and it should be moved to the main Prog Music Lounge. I didn't spend five minutes in front of my hifi installation, listening over and over again to the first notes of Edge Of Twilight for fun Shocked

Not that I dislike the Just For Fun section, on the contrary Smile . But analyzing Edge Of Twilight is a serious musical business. What impression do we give our intelligent new poster if we don't take his question seriously Wink

Tony moved it to Just for Fun for whatever reason he deemed.  I'm not really sure that it belongs here either as it seems to be a serious music question.

I didn't realise it was posted in Just For Fun. I thought it was a serious musical question. And a good one, too. Thumbs Up

In my ears it's definitely an organ in the higher register.
Further on, a reed instrument and a string instrument.
My guess: alto saxophone and viola.
And vocals of course and tons of echo LOL

Really? It does not sound like it. I do not even think they played hammond.
I actually thought about a Bassoon.

Another piece that sounds quite about the same: Lament by Gryphon:
