Maybe I am doing something wrong but it seems that there are very few options for forum searches.  For example, it doesn't seem to be possible to find posts by an author and the keyword search only seems to work for titles rather than content of posts.

The volume of posts to the forum meant that M@x (the webmaster) had to restrict some of the more demanding search types.

An alternative though is to use the internal Google search available from the home page, as that also takes in the forum area.

I stumbled upon that recently and I must say that it works a lot better than the forum search engine.

Yeah, that's how I found the site in the first place.

And if you Google my name, I'm at the top of the list thanks to doing album reviews here.

http://www.google.com/search?q=Brian+S.+Lindsey&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a LOL

By the way, those other Brian Lindsey's and Lindsay's are imposters!LOL

I usually use Google's site feature, for example:   site:progarchives.com Miley Cyrus

Yes... as much as I love the website and its people, I have to say, the in-forum search feature sucks, probably more than any other I've ever seen...

Use the google one..

Same opinion as The T. I don't get one thing. When you click on one's name and then "Find members posts", you're redirected to search page with "one's" name filled.

On other forums with this system (or similar one), you're given results instead.

One more click, you say it's nothing, but when it's 2 clicks, or 3 clicks, then it's difference.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Thanks for the Google hint.  Almost doesn't seem worth having the forum search facility. I guess it is difficult to disable it?
