I remember rather liking one of those Jaga Jazzist albums....listened to it in one of those spurts of insane craving for new music, so it kind of got lost in the process Smile

I've never heard of it.  I've got the RPI blinders on too much I guess.

Not at all. If there's something I missed it was the intensity and explosive tension, the bursting at the seams...
It's still refreshingly playful and idiosyncratic though, just more polished and restrained, with that slight ethnic vibe they've perfected.

Heh. The new Jaga Jazzist album is on Spotify. At least on the Premium version.

I've heard A Livingroom Hush and What We Must.

Hey!

In other news: I just made up a 52 ounce cup of Tazo Zen tea. I think I'll put it in the freezer.

Jaga Jazzist has so much sonic depth and wonderful arrangements. They're like equally electronic and jazz, but they manage to craft such a warm unique sound that really has a neat texture to it. On their 3rd album they also incorporate some post-rock influences. Some of the passages they have are some of my most favorite beautiful passages; it's really neat.

My favorite is What We Must, but The Stix and A Livingroom Hush are both pretty much just as good. I couldn't rate any of those below 4.5 stars. They actually took a few listens to fully hit me (except A Livingroom Hush, which was more immediate but not quite as special with the lush/warm sound aspect and is more upbeat), but they aren't really inaccessible either.
