Threshold will release their cover of the Muse song Supermassive Black Hole as a digital single on Jan 29 (UK Jan 31, US Feb 2). The single's B-side will be Slipstream (vocoder version), a previously unreleased mix of the opening song from the album Dead Reckoning.
Commented Threshold keyboard player Richard West: "Supermassive Black Hole' was such a huge hit for Muse, it's become a modern classic and it's still in the top ten of the U.K. rock charts after 150 weeks! I hope Muse enjoy Threshold 's reworking of their song; we've stayed fairly true to the original but with some added Threshold heaviness." The cover version was originally released as a bonus track on the special edition digipack version of Dead Reckoning, but has only now been made available as a full digital release. |

Charly Sahona
Charly Sahona is best known as the guitarist in the modern French progressive metal band Venturia. Late 2008 saw Charly begin work on what has become his debut solo album entitled “Naked Thoughts From A Silent Chaos” set for release on February 19th 2010 on Lion Music. This 8 track release is built around heavy riffs, catchy vocal lines and crazy solos. Comparisons can be made if one was to fuse Dream Theater with Muse and 30 Seconds To Mars. This album offers a fresh sound, modern and direct, heavy and begs to be heard. |

Official KEKAL Press-Release: January 2010
Good News! Kekal is NOT dead, and it is proven that new songs are currently in the production. After speculations about the current status of Kekal following the departures of all band members last year, it is confirmed that a new Kekal studio album is planned for 2010. The new album will be some sort of 'collective effort'. It means that all 3 former key members (Jeff, Azhar Levi and Leo) have contributed in making 'the whole art-form in one package', while not limited only on the music side. Levi is currently making the entire artwork for the album and Jeff is producing the music. 2 songs will also have Leo's guitar works. About the album direction, Jeff told that each song displays its unique character as a balance between electronic and organic elements, rhythm and melody, aggression and atmosphere, simplicity and complexity, beauty and the beast. Confirmed instruments being used on recording are: electric & guitars, drums, samples from field- The album will redefine the term 'experimental' in its true sense, but yet listeners will find it accessible and digestible. Kekal is currently looking for a potential record label to release the album on CD and digital later this year. More details including track listing and album title will be announced in the coming months. However, there is no plan for Jeff, Levi and Leo to rejoin Kekal. Kekal will stay member-less. Stay tuned with the news. http: http: http: |

A big thank you from Riverside.
2009 was one of the most intensive (if not THE most intensive) years in the band's history.
First of all, the new album "Anno Domini High Definition" that appeared for the first time on foreign sales charts, in the Netherlands and Germany among others, and in Poland reached the first place of OLIS sales chart, after what it became gold. Second, the concerts promoting the album, gathering the biggest audience in the band's history, both in Poland and abroad (e.g. only at 6 ADHD concerts in the Nethelands and Belgium 3000 people came to see us live. On the whole tour - over 20 000). Third, "Reality Dream DVD," recorded in May 2008, summarising the Reality Dream trilogy, finally with the image.
All of the above happened thanks to joint commitment of people supporting us, our friends and fans, whom we would like to thank cordially and hyperactively. You are great and it is thanks to you that we are able to move forward constantly. However, this year we are planning to slow down a bit in order to charge our batteries. But not for so long as to let you forget about us :)
We will let you know about our nearest-future plans very soon.
Take care,

As promised, an update from Haken.
(extract from email received from Hen)
"The album is pretty much there. All of the music is recorded, mixed and mastered, we're all extremely happy with how it has turned out, we couldn't have put any more effort into it. The artwork is in the final stages of completion (Its looking great!). Unfortunately, It looks like the release date will be moved back to either February or March due to the schedules being stretched a little. As soon as we have a concrete date of release we're going to give a huge update on everything that has happened over the last few months."

Good news on the SymX album, thanks.
Any word on a release date for the new albums by Haken and Pain of Salvation, both should be early in the new year? |

Symphony X
Just got off the phone with MJR; he wishes everyone a Happy New Year and reports that the writing of the new cd is progressing well. He says that the riffs are written and all the ideas are there, they're just trying different arrangement ideas right now. We talked about how we're back to the usual routine of trying to find new ways to say the same old 'the band is writing the cd', and he said "It's hard to say. Every day is different, we're just doing our thing & trying to make the tunes cool. You put something together one day and then come back the next day & listen to it; sometimes it's cool, & sometimes it sucks & you have to change things around." They're still hoping to be done with the cd by spring.
