You don't have to pay for an IRC channel, as far as I know.

No, but you have to pay for the server.

Anyways, after getting only 3 hours of sleep last night, I'm going to bed.

My friend who set up the channel I frequent didn't buy a server, do you think we'd need to for PA?

Did he set up an IRC server or just a channel?
Edit: nevermind. What server would we use if we only had a channel?

Yes, as I said, it would be trivial to start #progarchives on irc.slashnet.org, the only problem would getting people to join (nobody would join). The problem would be having #symphonic and #SR on irc.progarchives.com.

He made his channel on SwiftIRC.

That is why it is important to know if it is going to be "The Official" PA IRC, or if it is an unofficial one.

Yeah, I can see where that would present a bit of difficulty with cost.  It would be nice if it happened, though.

Nobody would use it anyway. We would be the only people on.

I want to stop wanting things.

You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
Stranger: hello
You: hello
You: Do you like Ornette Coleman?
Stranger: certainly, I haven't heard much. just a few tracks off the shape of jazz to come

YES! I was not expecting that answer.

^ That's rather unexpected, yeah.

And yeah, I'm sure that if there ever was a PA IRC channel, it'd most likely just be a real-time SR.

I actually thought of that right after he disconnected, but it was too good for me to pass up. If you're wondering, my french phrases were "Where is the swimming pool?" and "I prefer the company of jazz musicians to male models" into babelfish. I have no idea what he was saying.

Yeah if it was German I'd maybe be able to translate some, but not French.  I love using online translators for things, it usually ends up in some hilarious mangling of the original sentence you put in.

Sometimes the internet comes through for me

You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say hi!
You: Hello
Stranger: Hello
You: Do you like shiny things?
Stranger: hmm no
Stranger: do you?
You: yes
You: Everything in my house is covered in aluminum foil
Stranger: well then you can have all my shiny things
Stranger: how do those foil sheets feel to sleep between?
You: Only the blanket is covered in foil, since my eyes are closed I can sleep in regular sheets
Stranger: ahhh
Stranger: interesting
You: It's sort of a problem I have
You: The toothbrush is another obvious exception
Stranger: my problem is picking up random garbage from the street and shoving it in my mouth.
You: but I can wrap the base of it in foil
You: That seems worse
Stranger: yeah
Stranger: id rather have your problem
Stranger: it really sucks when the garbage is covered in aluminum foil
Stranger: its gets stuck in the mouth and cuts my gums
Stranger: and i have no dental insurance.
Stranger: its actually the only reason i voted for obama
Stranger: my mouth hates me
You: But he hasn't come through for you
Stranger: damn right im one pissed off bleeding mouth motherf**ker
Stranger: excuse my language
You: are you cop?
Stranger: its just the issue hits so close to home
You: Because if you're not I'm ready to start planning his overthrow right here right now
Stranger: im in
You: We will do whatever it takes
You: as long as the guns can be covered in foil
Stranger: there are dozens of us!
Stranger: of course and our offical meeting place is 24 hr pancake house
You: Isn't that in a movie
You: I think you are not a real person, sir.
Stranger: what isnt these days
Stranger: who isnt these days
if you own a sodastream i hate you

Good work Henry, a hard hitting social commentary of the modern dystopia.

omegle.com. It's completely anonymous and only one on one so it's the best timewasting semi-trolling chat site I've found yet. Any other chat rooms that have bait are full of spammers and have too many people for you to get a stupid word in edgewise.
