Funny how opinions differ. I would say that about Aisle of Plenty, certainly, but I don't think I'd say that about It. Actually It may be my very least favourite album closer ever. The more I listen to TLLDOB the more emotionally impacted I am by the fourth side, and especially In the Rapids. When you realize what's going on there, and Rael sacrificing his shot at freedom to save his brother and in the process finding redemption, it's a very shattering experience. To have that then transition into something that is stylistically alien to the rest of the album (kind of sounds like a used car commercial to my ears) completely ruins the experience, IMHO. Anyway, my list might be something like: Genesis - Aisle of Plenty Birds and Buildings - Sunken City, Sunny Day Anekdoten - Wheel King Crimson - LTIA pt 2 (bizarre, I know, but it's agressive experimentation sums up the spirit of the album perfectly, to my ears) Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick (hah, only joking) |

1. The Beatles- A Day in the Life
2. The Beatles- the multi song ending part of abbey road that starts with mean mr. mustard and goes through her majesty, i know its multiple songs but i always think of it as one 3. Yes- Heart of the sunrise 4. rush- la villa strangatto 5. currently a three way tie between Mastodon's the last baron, dream theaters the count of tuscany, and Between the Buried and Me's Swim to the moon. Thought i'd make the last one more recent. I think that the lyrics to count of Tuscany could be better, but i think the music itself is great. |

First one I thought of was Awaken by Yes.
Since that's been previously mentioned, I'll name five others:
The Sahara of Snow, Part II - Bruford (the full stop before the coda)
Outside The Wall - Pink Floyd (love how it loops to the beginning In The Flesh?)
Late Lament - Moody Blues (the gong is the ultimate sound of finality)
Fool's Overture - Supertramp (I like how the song conveys how close to the end England was)
Los Endos - Genesis (a natural; especially the Seconds Out version)
