LOL

That's the whole point.

There's actually one part where the bass sounds like the trumpet and vice-versa.

I know, good thing I caught on early. If I didn't I would freak. LOL If/when I get the album it will be better, then I will be able to listen to them without getting a headache.

Its still growing on me actually. Which is a good thing I guess.

I still can't really get into Burning Sky though, which is weird, because I loved that track when I first got the album.

How in the world do drugs make a musician play better? It's not like any of the greats ever used drugs. Lets take jazz for example. Do you really think they would ever commit such a heinous act as to use chemicals? I think not.

Oh wait. Never mind.

Influence. Not playing under the influence.

@ Joel, Burning Sky is one of those tracks that just works or it doesn't. There are plenty of other UTD tracks that are similar.

"Third" is seriously one of my favorite albums of all time.  I'm not just name-dropping that to earn Prog cred.

LOL namedropping Third would only work in, like, a neo prog thread. This thread has way too many RIO fans. Smile

Third is a really good album though.

Yeah, I'm really enjoying the album.  My mom isn't actually too critical of it, but she says "How is this even 'rock,' Josh?  It's just jazz."  Well, I still think there are some Rock elements to it, but it is certainly the jazziest rock album I've ever heard.

I also can't wait for "Tago Mago" to arrive in the mail.  I really enjoyed the sample "Oh Yeah" on PA.

For Tago Mago:

UTD=Up the Downstairs.  I'm not even a big fan of them and I've caught on to most of the abbreviations just by sticking around PA long enough. LOL

Only PT album before Deadwing/In Absentia/FoaBP I've heard is TSMS, which I enjoy.  Not enough that I'm in a gigantic hurry to buy more of their albums, though.
