Oh wait, you're the one saying jazz must be loud and energetic.
I don't know then, the first decades could sound too "traditional", maybe the fusion of the 70s (although I still haven't reached
IASW and
BB , how can I be so irresponsible?!)

Oh yes, that's how I did it. Really haven't got past him yet to explore further, except for some Coltrane and Hancock.

Best place to start a jazz exploration is Bill Bruford's Earthworks.

How do you like their Stamping Ground live album? We've got that, I think it sounded quite nice the two times I listened to it long ago...

I've also decided Ceux du dehors > Hérésie. Yes I did just say that.

Also, Soft Machine 1 > 2 "YES" > "Time And A Word" Collegium Musicum > most of classic symphonic rock

Incorrect. Soft Machine 2 > Third > 1 > other SM albums.

Also, as far as I'm concerned Miles Davis is an essential artist in every music collection.

I felt underwhelmed last time I listened to In A Silent Way. Also, I prefer Mingus' Pithecanthropus Erectus to Coltrane.

As far as Mingus goes, my favorite is Black Saint and the Sinner Lady. Pithecanthropus Erectus is probably second.

I have Pithecanthropus Erectus and Mingus Ah Um (haven't listened to the latter yet). I'll try and purchase Black Saint and the Sinner Lady soon.

Is there an Asian emoticon for flashing boobies? Oh wait... just flashing boobies would do the trick.

James, you do realize that the pics in your avatar sometimes aren't visible because the Progfreak sig is too big right?
