This question is obviously geared towards people who actively read the reviews posted on the site, specifically my reviews... I understand that people probably haven't labouriously gone through and read each and every one of my reviews, but if there was one of my reviews that stood out (either for a good or bad reason,) I am hoping for some feedback. I've recently started modifying and adding detail to my reviews, to make them more rewarding for the reader.

I know it might sound like a very self-centered query (it is) but I just want to improve my ability to write reviews... Moreover, I write reviews for the sake of getting feedback and (hopefully) expanding my musical horizons! LOL

your Permanent Waves is quite good

actually Conor you have real potential to be a high quality reviewer, your musical understanding shows.  One tip; try to add something to a review that no one else seems to have--  one way to do that is research, which can be a great source of inspiration and material;  always read album notes if you have them, and check the artist's listing on other sites, look up particular instruments or styles, find out what the band members were up to at that time, background, material unused for a record, etc.

I remember your review of Marillion's Anoraknophobia which I read a while ago. I really liked that one. I had a look at some of your others from the albums I know, although I didn't see any which were really bad at all in all honesty.
I like your Marillion one because I like Marillion (), and because it really describes well how I feel about the album, too.

That is a great idea ... I would love to have the same kind of feedback in order to improve my reviewing and music analysis skills... Thanks in advance

PS: I really like your reviews (I've red a few of them) the only thing is that I enjoy song by song analysis of albums I've already listened several times to look for things other people noticed (but that is just me) and your reviews are helpful when looking for new albums + I think you should get more used to Zappa's style and give Lumpy Gravy another try it isn't an absolute masterpiece but it is a fun ride... Keep up with the great reviewing
