No you won't be.

Nattens Madrigal is the most trve Black metal album ever made. Rumor has it, that Ulver was given $1000 to record the album, but spent it on beer (probably drugs) and suits. They only had enough money left to record the album on cassette, in a forest. Or so legend says...

To make matters worse, it sounds like it was recorded on a cassette, in a forest. There is no bass, and the treble is astoundingly loud.

"The third album, “Nattens Madrigal - Aatte Hymne Til Ulven I Manden”, was a return to black metal, more ferocious than Bergtatt was, with only one mellow acoustic interlude in the first track. The album is intentionally under-produced, akin to Darkthrone’s Transilvanian Hunger, with buzzing guitars and rather muffled drums. There are rumours surrounding this album and its recording, the most famous being that the band recorded this album in a forest. Another and less-known rumor is that the band purposely recorded the album on a four-track cassette recorder and used the money that Century Media gave them for other things, for example Armani suits, haircuts, cocaine, beer, and/or a new car."

That's BS, they didn't record it in a damn forest they just want you to believe that. It's a great album, though.

Ben, how good is Anathema's Judgement, and do you think I'd like it?

I'm not Ben, but the first track is great and there's some fine stuff after that, but I find it pretty tiring to listen to all the way. Not a big fan of the style in general.

Thanks Pekka I might get it, although it seems a little flat from the tracks I've heard.

I need to check the general story of the Theusz Hamtaahk Trilogie (which M.D.K. is a part of) and determine whether the Naziesque parts are the Humans or the Kobaians.  One would be the enemy, of course.  Maybe Vander is portraying them as evil, hence the Nazi overtones and is therefore not condoning them at all.

Then don't judge a genre you've never heard.

I actually think you may appreciate some of it.

Look who speaks! LOL

I'm fully aware my aversion to metal is not based on actually studying the genre in its tiniest detail, on the other hand, why would I subject myself to loads of a music that I can hardly enjoy even when it's just sprinkled in eclectic albums or integrated in a bigger picture?

And the least I did is to make connections between Metal and Black Metal. And what I moreover meant was that, upon this recommendation to listen to a Black Metal album, I'm gonna wholeheartedly pass. I feel no interest in it, I'm not even gonna start judging.

The thing is, a lot of Black Oni has Doom Metal influences.  Trust me on this.

I can live with that on Guapo's dark albums, I know it's not just that. In contrast, the hipster screamo from their first albums is of no value.

He better do.

It's the best album made in the 1980s, as far as I am concerned.

Sorry, that title would have to go to Moving Pictures.  Hands down; no questions asked.
