I'm wondering if I should upgrade Part The Second from 8 (excellent) to 9 (exceptional).

I think a 4 or so would be more suitable. Big smile

Not in my world it wouldn't Wink

Anyway, it stays "just" excellent. No exceptional.

Cool, I'm looking forward to your opinion! Thumbs Up I'd suggest New Century Classics for the beginning, they're the most enjoyable.

Listening to them now, sounds like very basic post rock, but definitely beautiful and worth listening to Thumbs Up

Oh yes, this is staying on my Ipod for sure Smile

Hi Juan, nothing much is happening, except for the Magma debate. The Shred Room has been mostly empty today.

Oh... Ok then... a Magma debate for a change... well... I don't know them so I can't share too much about it... but I'll be here if someone needs me... which I doubt... Wink

Funny how, at the time when the original debate happened (on Kohntarkosz and P-Ears, at least), it was only mentioned in the RIO thread, with a handful of replies (out of which I enjoyed reading Mellisa's reaction, as one of the several die-hard Magma fans).

Now, that someone accidentally found the old pages of debate, a topic erupts.

I'm still not comfortable with Vander's "Du za(h)inen (?) werden sturmen" at the end of Hhai's vocal monologue (from E-RE II). Sounds truly fishy, and the whole accent and ferocity of the shout points to the Führer (otherwise, the part itself being bliss).

That's what is great about it... someone else finds an old topic and the debate revive.. it's fun... an interesting... but again... I'm out of the water in that particular topic so... I will keep the track but don't do nothing about it...

I'm sure it inspired him, but we must learn to set apart art from reality or morals.

True.

I still don't like how it lands, and how it sounds.

I'm sorry, Joel. But BE is absolutely awful. At least Scarsick isn't 90% noise and spoken word and has actual music. Wink

No but Scarsick is sh*t.

Give me noise any day of the week compared to that c**ting bollocks.

The way I see it is:

Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh = there's no coincidence that Murder, Death, Kill also happens to be shorted to M.D.K.
The intro to M.D.K. on Retrospektiw I-II sounds much more Hitlerian than other versions I've heard

I need to check the general story of the Theusz Hamtaahk Trilogie (which M.D.K. is a part of) and determine whether the Naziesque parts are the Humans or the Kobaians.  One would be the enemy, of course.  Maybe Vander is portraying them as evil, hence the Nazi overtones and is therefore not condoning them at all.
