I haven't listened to Kayo Dot's latest.
Or to Kayo Dot.
Because of the genre.

Kayo Dot's latest has zero metal in it if I'm not wrong, but I think I mentioned that to you already.

Also, The Song Remains The Same also remains the greatest/best concert film ever.

I've only got CotE, but BLD should have arrived by now. Hopefully tomorrow it will.

Rico, they're probably going to be moved to RIO/Avant-prog soon enough.

See the Collab Forums on Prog Discussion.

That's funny, but I think I know what's happening. I may be starting to remember my previous thoughts in the form of real conversations. LOL

I'm not Ben, but the first track is great and there's some fine stuff after that, but I find it pretty tiring to listen to all the way. Not a big fan of the style in general.

So basically I'm hoping for something that reminds me of Aphex Twin. Or maybe Tangerine Dream. Or something. Smile

Unlikely.  I've gotten an eclectic mix so far though, solo piano stuff, some ambient electronic, etc.  I'm trying to find more types of stuff to use, vocal clips, etc.

Have you tried Sven Vath?

http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=63445 (Henry approved of it! ShockedTongue)
http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=63443 (probably the nicest cover art of 2009)

I'm downloading all three of your suggestions now, I'll try to listen to them all today Smile

I'm sorry, Joel. But BE is absolutely awful. At least Scarsick isn't 90% noise and spoken word and has actual music. Wink

Cool, I'm looking forward to your opinion! Thumbs Up I'd suggest New Century Classics for the beginning, they're the most enjoyable.

I think a 4 or so would be more suitable. Big smile

I would take Blue Lambency Downward over PtS in a heartbeat. Plus it's my favorite Kayo Dot album.

I've gotten quite a bit more exposure to jazz this past year, but Bill Bruford's Earthworks jazz is still my favorite.
