I'm dreaming of the Henry Cow box set
Just like the one that James owns
where the plastic glistens
and James listens
to Frith using an E-bow

I should spend it on something constructive, like food or rent. But meh, I need more music.

Honest, it was in the pocket of a pair of jeans I haven't worn for a few months. Been through the wash a few times it seems.

I wonder if my family likes Acoustic Ladyland, I want to play it on stereo, it seems like Skinny Grin would sound good played loudly through stereo.

I think I will. "Cuts and Lies" has singing on it, that's like pop right? Cool music video too.

When in doubt, always play the most innacessible song on the album, and then when your parents object, shout - it's art man!

Or, play some brutal metal.

My dad would probably put up with avant-garde jazz and the like, as long as it's not too loud. My mom on the other hand, if it's not  something she likes she probably won't listen to it. Neither of them would like me to play metal. Actually, neither of them have ever questioned my musical taste, as far as lyrical content goes. That's a good thing for some specific songs. LOL

I played my father some Morningside (Melodic Doom/Death) a while back, and he liked the riffs and acoustic passages but looked quite uneasy when the high pitched growls kicked in.

Yeah, anything other than "normal" singing will instantly disgust my parents. That is why when my sister plays rap she gets instantly told to turn it off. I bet she'd absolutely hate Trout Mask Replica.

If there is anything my family hates more than my music, it is rap. Our neighbours love it. When they play it, all we hear is bass coming through the walls.

One day I will play the grimmest metal possible at ear-drum shattering levels - at 5am in the morning to get back at them. Unfortunately, my parents would probably go ape as well.

My parents like a lot of artists of mine I'd think they'd not and they don't like a lot of the ones I'd think they would.  For example, they both seemed to like Magma and dad liked Univers Zero, but they weren't fans of Soft Machine or Caravan or Koenjihyakkei. Tongue  Mom relatively liked Henry Cow's Legend.

I'm to scared to play anything to avant or dissonant to anyone other than myself, for fear of turning into that slightly weird guy who plays all that 'music' no-one but himself understands or likes.
