Actually, pronunciation of words is one of my strong points.

It also pisses me off when people say "Don Jew-Ann" instead of "Don Hwan".

Definitely not "Ryke", with a sharp k. Or a K at all all.

Both are correct.  There's different dialects in Germany.

Some say "ryshe" some say "ryke".

It's like the Michael Stich thing.

Some say "Stitch", some say "Stick" and some say "Stitsh".

"ryshe" is even worse. I agree of course, with the dialects, but we're talking Hochdeutschsprache here.

"K" is ok in umgangdeutschsprache (as it is okay with many other words or pronounciations, I'm not saying simplifications, transformations and such aren't normal), yes. As far as Austrian German, and this name, though:

no k.

I have four albums of the new year, waiting to be heard. Approve

Univers Zero - Clivages (oh boy oh boy)
Thee (thee??) Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra - Kollaps Tradixionales
New Century Classics - Natural Process

and since lucas recommended it yesterday, Vampire Weekend - Contra (doesn't sound like it has more than a couple of interesting moments, from YouTube, but whatever)

Indeed.

Although it wasn't my top album of the year it impressed me a lot.  In fact, I keep getting elements of Part II stuck in my brain.

Classic time, yes.
Clivages should be the best since then, according to "voices".

Mom just forced me to take a pill, that, among other vitamins and supliments, helps the memory.

I forgot everything I learned this afternoon.

Coffee's on!

How so Robert?
...that moment you realize you like "Mob Rules" better than "Heaven and Hell"

Sounds familiar.  Flew back from Hawaii Wednesday, heading back there Monday.  A month after I return the baby has his first birthday.  His first year flew by!
