Hey there guys,

Thought this would be a good place to share my new album with everyone. Free of charge of course.

The album is entitled "Sporadic Visions" and it's a collection of instrumental songs from 2009 that are loosely based on weird/surreal dreams & sporadic bursts of imagination.

(artwork included)

Track listings:

1. Dinosaurs Stole My Guitar (09:48)
2. Ebow Etude (10:20)
3. Sir Eel part.2 - Madam eelis maximus [OOBE] (14:37)
4. Lucid SandWitch Nightmare 001 (05:39)
5. Dinosaurs Broke My Guitar (03:08)
6. A Tale Of Woe (23:48)
7. Optimism versus Octopus (06:56)
8. For A Friend I Miss (06:25)

Feel free to download yourselves a copy and/or share it with anyone who might have an ear for this kind of stuff.

Thanks guys,
Keep it spicy.
-Steve

I'd tried to download it, but the servers are currently full
I've bookmarked it, and I definitely will get it later

-Joel

EDIT:
Working now, downloading as we speak

So are you suggesting yourself for inclusion on PA too?

Ah yes indeed, I've been visiting PA for the past year or two but only as a sly spectator. Tongue  I'm generally quite a quiet person you see but every now and then I like coming here to try find some new and interesting (prog) music. (or even to read some of the threads - but I'm not really one for reading so it's a good thing the threads are about prog and not... potato chips Clown)  It's nice to be a part/(Newbie) of the site though, in whatever way.

Just started listening, definitely very interesting and original stuff! You're quite a guitarist

So do you play all the instruments on this one?

Also, if I'm not mistaken, I can hear some Steve Vai influences in here. By the way, its seriously amazing that you're only 18! This is really solid stuff!

Ah, cheers man.

Yeh, I do all of the guitar work on these versions of the songs but, as you might have sussed, the rest of the instruments are programmed to play what I composed for them. It kind of has its advantages in precision but it's losing the human element/touch, you know.

(the main reason I had to succumb to doing this though is because I live in Scotland and over here it seems like most people think that 'prog' is some sort of cooking utensil. Subsequently I've had no such luck in finding other like-minded musicians who might be up for playing these songs or even just to jam with and make some interesting music)

I can actually play most of the other instrument's parts though - [not simultaneously though of course. It's not quite like those 'one-man-band' situations, with the drum on the back and the keyboard on the face etc.] Tongue -

(keyboard parts in particular and only a few of the drum parts... there's just no way I could play some of the drum parts on there, at the moment. It might even give some proper drummers a run for there money, I don't know)

oh and... bass is very much like guitar so ... that's covered hehe LOL

Many thanks Joel Smile

Ah man, the Steve Vai influence.... this is a weird thing. I've had quite a few people say the same thing to me but, in all honesty, I've hardly listened to any of Mr. Vai's stuff. we've mabye just kind of 'crossed paths in an ocean', you know.

I think the same was said about Frank Zappa which, back at the time, was the same kind of situation but now...(after finding some of his more 'bizarre' songs) LOL ...I'm hooked to his music to say the least.

I'm just getting into Zappa myself (I've only got two albums) but I can see why so many people love him. I'll definitely be getting some more stuff by him soon.

Do you have any other albums recorded so far?

Good stuff, man Clap Zappa's music is quite diverse/varied it seems. There's pretty much something for everyone.

other albums? I do have 2 other albums but as of now I'd consider them to be more 'demos'. I was a little younger at the time and mabye not as learned so the production is not as good but the ideas are still there.
