Ah yes indeed, I've been visiting PA for the past year or two but only as a sly spectator. |

Just started listening, definitely very interesting and original stuff! You're quite a guitarist
![]() So do you play all the instruments on this one? Also, if I'm not mistaken, I can hear some Steve Vai influences in here. By the way, its seriously amazing that you're only 18! This is really solid stuff! ![]() Edited by progkidjoel - January 14 2010 at 20:21 |

Ah, cheers man.
Yeh, I do all of the guitar work on these versions of the songs but, as you might have sussed, the rest of the instruments are programmed to play what I composed for them. It kind of has its advantages in precision but it's losing the human element/touch, you know.
(the main reason I had to succumb to doing this though is because I live in Scotland and over here it seems like most people think that 'prog' is some sort of cooking utensil. Subsequently I've had no such luck in finding other like-minded musicians who might be up for playing these songs or even just to jam with and make some interesting music)
I can actually play most of the other instrument's parts though - [not simultaneously though of course. It's not quite like those 'one-man-band' situations, with the drum on the back and the keyboard on the face etc.]
![]() (keyboard parts in particular and only a few of the drum parts... there's just no way I could play some of the drum parts on there, at the moment. It might even give some proper drummers a run for there money, I don't know)
oh and... bass is very much like guitar so ... that's covered hehe

Many thanks Joel
![]() Ah man, the Steve Vai influence.... this is a weird thing. I've had quite a few people say the same thing to me but, in all honesty, I've hardly listened to any of Mr. Vai's stuff. we've mabye just kind of 'crossed paths in an ocean', you know.
I think the same was said about Frank Zappa which, back at the time, was the same kind of situation but now...(after finding some of his more 'bizarre' songs)

I'm just getting into Zappa myself (I've only got two albums) but I can see why so many people love him. I'll definitely be getting some more stuff by him soon.
Do you have any other albums recorded so far? |

Good stuff, man
![]() other albums? I do have 2 other albums but as of now I'd consider them to be more 'demos'. I was a little younger at the time and mabye not as learned so the production is not as good but the ideas are still there.
