Wow!  You're lucky, Joel.  I thought that teenage girls liking Prog was an oxymoron.

I am interested in a girl right now.  She almost seems like a perfect fit for me.  She's cute, smart, sweet, and likes video games and anime (she's also Asian, which is always a plus for me.)  Her taste in music isn't too good, but I think I might be able to convert her with some of the more accessible stuff.  For some reason, I think Spock's Beard might work.  Unfortunately, the only problem is that she's not really my girlfriend because her parents are so overprotective!  They probably won't even let her get kissed until she get's married (I made that up, but it's not that much of a stretch.)  We've been good friends for a long time, but it wasn't until now that I've had romantic feelings for her.  Oh well, I guess we will keep being good friends.  Freakin' catholic schoolgirls.

I found one who knows about Dream Theater. Smile

I'd post her picture, but I don't know if she would be okay with that or not. Embarrassed

Oh cool, Massive Attack. The only thing that annoys me about that album is that I always get the phrase "toy like people make me boy like" stuck in my head. It's OK though, because I get to think about House too. Smile

Thats awesome!
She doesn't really like prog as such (IE doesn't talk about it as being prog) but just likes rock and metal which isn't just plain vanilla alt-rock. Which is good I guess

The best prog bands to start people on imo are Radiohead and PT. Mainly because they both have some albums with only slight (but obvious) prog overtones. That's pretty 'tarded about her parents, though.

Can someone please explain to me Vompatti's fascination with Winona Ryder and midget bikers?  I guess those things started before I came to PA.

Midget Bikers is a more recent one started by floydispink, mainly because of this picture:

And Vompatti Winona.

Also Josh, have you gotten any of the most recent Genesis remasters? I've gotten ATotT and Trespass (the former is in my top 3 albums ever) and they're both fantastic. Also, ATotT has a bonus live DVD, with the coolest setlist I've seen for a concert in a while.

Ah, I see.LOL

After clicking that link, Vompatti is more obsessed with Winona than I thought.  I never really visit the Question Thread, so I didn't realize that he was that crazy about Winona.

Because music is the most important thing ever, if you don't like the exact same bands as me I don't think I could stand it.

Actually, musical taste would be the icing on the cake.

I used to think that musical taste mattered, and then I stopped being a snob and realized that it doesn't matter.
