Let's do a New Year's karaoke, record ourselves and provide the recordings for Rico as backing vocals for his Rock Bottom style music.

@Joel: It's great, except for the occasional strike from time to time (trains, museums, etc.) Where will this tour take you?
France in April is incredibly wonderful, like a garden in full blossom. I'm so happy I'm catching my next April in France again. |

@Joel: Hey, we can meet in Paris! Will you have a tight schedule or will you have time to roam the city and maybe go to a concert? We're going to have Opeth on April 4 and 65daysofsatic on April 30 (I don't know yet If I'll be around for this one). It depends on when exactly are you coming to Paris. Montpellier is a great southern city from what I know, very close to the Mediterranean.

We should be able to meet in Paris, although I'm not sure about the Opeth concert. I might be able to go, but I'm not sure if my school would let me. I think we're in Paris for 4 or 5 days, but I think thats when we're on the tight schedule so I can't say for sure. It would be awesome if we could meet though! |

Avignon is a wonderful medieval city (it was the residence of the Popes in the 14th century and their palace with mediaeval paintings is still holding). Arles is also great, as it has ancient Roman ruins, including an awesome Colosseum. That's where Van Gogh used to paint in 1889 if I'm not wrong. Nice is a typical Cote d'Azur city, Lyon is a cozy bourgeois city, Beauvais is the airport (but I think there's some mediaeval monastery too) and I suppose Provence is the name of the region, not any town in particular.
Looking forward to meet you! Edited by harmonium.ro - December 31 2009 at 06:12 |

Spring is not the best time for concerts here, summer and autumn are much much better. However you may find something interesting that I missed: you just need to go on last.fm, go at Events, set your location as Paris, France, and set the calendar for the days you're interested in.

We can do something else then, no problem. There's plenty of stuff to do here. What do you have in mind?

Not much so far really. We get to go to Parc Asterix immediately after arriving () and also some touristy stuff like The Louvre and Le tour eiffel, but I can't think of many things I want to do in particular. On homestay though (which is for a week) we get to do pretty much whatever we want, and we have a 10 PM curfew which is awesome!

If you want some hints for Le Louvre, don't hesitate (I'm an art critic). RE the Eiffel Tower, I hope you book tickets online. I have a couple of friends who came this week in vacation and they went to the Tower and sat in the queue for three hours
What exactly is a "homestay"? |

Haha, this remind me of that famous early Simpsons episode with Bart's homestay in France
Well, I'll definitely be around. Provided you have time there is quite some things we can do. |

Well the homestay is in Montpellier, but we're allowed to bus into Paris any day we want, so we should definitely be able to catch up. This will be great!
So what sort of things are there to do? |

You guys make me miss France. I was there for a few days in November 2007 if I'm correct, not much time to do anything except go see Overhead in Versailles. Gotta get back to Paris some day

Well, you might like the Catacombs or climbing Montmarte (the view from the Sacre Coeur church's tower is breath-taking). Most of the public gardens are incredible in April. You might want to visit one or two music shops or browse the typical Parisian shops for gifts. There's also "The City of Music" (http://www.citedelamusique.fr/anglais/Default.aspx), the famous cemeteries, great places to eat and drink, etc. LE: Also Versailles and Fontainebleau (where I live) are within one hour by train.
