I still have three albums from 2009 to listen to before tomorrow.

MiRthkon - Vehicle
Cheer-Accident - Fear Draws Misfortune (Pat's pick of the year)
Alamaailman Vasarat - whatever it's called

Plus I wanted to check out Riverside's new one too but I doubt that'd reach my expectations.

miRthkon's is excellent.

Are you saying my reviews aren't quality?

Most of the time when I'm posting on PA I'm doing reviews. I have about 6 or 7 that are about 70% done. Then I always start another one, and the vicious cycle continues

You know what I meant.  Tongue  And good.

I myself am trying to dig up recent bands that don't have reviews or have fewer than five reviews.

I "get" fame, but it blows me away just how disproportionate the attention famous bands get relative to somewhat unknown artists, especially among collabs and prog reviewers.

In so doing, I've found a few gems! Big smile

LOL

I tried a Flaming Lips albums once.... Dead

Was it the Yoshimi one? That disc made me angry.

I might prefer Present to UZ, but I've only listened to 2 albums by each band, one listen per album so far.  Both definitely require more listening.

I sort of felt that way initially, but now UZ is just miles beyond Present for me.  I found Certitudes a bit boring.

I haven't heard Certitudes yet, but I love their first two.  And the two UZ albums I've heard.  And the other samples of each band I've heard.  Geez, I think I must like them. Wink

Present's first two are certainly classics of the whole chamber prog scene, but over time even they have really paled to the best of UZ.

And:  get more Art Zoyd.

Also, get Shub-Niggurath, Pocket Orchestra, Zaar, Sotos and Ahvak. Big smile

Nope.  I like OOIOO, so I might actually like Yoshimi vs. the Battle Robotos.

No, the one I have is The Soft Bulletin.

I'm working on an unreviewed 2009 album which is available for free Surprised it doesn't have a (written) review, actually.

Ornette Coleman.

I want to say something...

I listened to "The Shape of Jazz to Come" and was actually underwhelmed by it.  I enjoyed it but it didn't really blow me away.

I still much prefer anything with Elton Dean on it.

@James: Wow, 62 thousand! Shocked Last I remember looking at your post count you had less then thirty thousand. That probably means that I'm not very attentive any more and also that you've been posting regularly in the Collab forums, as I don't see you posting that much on the regular forums.
