So, almost 3 years ago now, guitarist Michael Harris pulled together a group of talented musicians, including former Enchant vocalist Ted Leonard, and created a prog metal album under the band name "Thought Chamber."  That album (Angular Perceptions) gathered some critical acclaim... it made it onto Mike Portnoy's "Best of 2007" list.  If I recall correctly, they even played at PowerProg later that year.

Personally, that album was one of my favorites of 2007 (and perhaps tied with Pathosray for favorite debut of the year).  Since then I've been wondering if they would ever put out a follow up.  From reading Michael Harris's comments a while back about the material, he clearly expected more to come.  But now I've noticed that their website is defunct (though their last login to MySpace was just yesterday).

So, does anyone know what ever became of this group?  Are there still plans to release a followup?  Or is "Angular Perceptions" both the first and last chapter in this band's history?

I have been anxiously awaiting a new Thought Chamber album but now I'm not holding my breath.I fear this project might have been a one-off,which sucks because Angular Perceptions was an exceptional prog metal album.

Well said- my thoughts exactly.

Perhaps they made little money?

Glad to hear I'm not the only one out there who was eagerly awaiting a follow up.  I just checked the Michael Harris website (http://www.michaelharrisguitar.com/) and found this...

http://www.darkology.com/

It looks like he's formed another band and managed to get a new release out.  There is a sample track on the site, and it sounds very different from Thought Chamber.  I guess this means he's moving on to new things.  I'll definitely be checking this out, but its not the Thought Chamber follow up I was hoping for. Unhappy

Does anyone know Michael Harris?  It looks like people keep posting to the Thought Chamber MySpace page wondering when the next album will come out.  Someone needs to ask him.

No, nothing at all. Not band, label or individually.

I've sent them a mail but not holding my breath.

With Enchant working on their follow up to "Tug Of War" it doesn't seem likely we will see anything soon, assuming they use Ted Leonard again, of course.

In the meantime you could always catch Michael Harris on tour with his live band. The Michael Harris Tranz-Fusion. Wink

Holy crap!  I think you must live around the corner from me.  I don't want to put too much info on the message board, but I'll send you a PM.
