I don't think I could make a best of '09 yet, I better wait until '09 is over.

I like The Bends a lot, I find it an excellent alternative rock album. It's especially deserving credit as it's got no hit on it, just a very good average. On the contrary, I find Pablo Honey to be uber-sub-mediocre. Its  rating on PA is much too generous, I think.

Alright, my top 10 list is taking me awhile to actually type out. It might not be ready until tomorrow, because I just got through #10 through #7 in about 90 minutes. LOL

Cool, I hope you like that album Rob. Also, I want to recommend you this: http://www.byronmusic.ro/ I just got this band added to Crossover. You can listen on their homepage to all their albums in full and for free, and I'd recommend "Forbidden Drama" (the one with the eye on the cover). From all the people on PA, I think they'd suit your tastes the best. Big smile

I appreciate the leads.  Thumbs Up

Allow me to make a few recommendations of my own:

@Scott: I type almost 50 words per minute, so it's not that. LOL

I've finished everything except my #1, so it should be on Facebook within the hour. But if you're really curious and don't have a Facebook account, or are bored out of your skull, you can PM me for the list and my summaries. Tongue

I kind of figured as much, but it still sounded funny that it took you 90 minutes to type your number 7 to number 10 band names and albums.

I might prefer Present to UZ, but I've only listened to 2 albums by each band, one listen per album so far.  Both definitely require more listening.

I sort of felt that way initially, but now UZ is just miles beyond Present for me.  I found Certitudes a bit boring.

I haven't heard Certitudes yet, but I love their first two.  And the two UZ albums I've heard.  And the other samples of each band I've heard.  Geez, I think I must like them. Wink

Present's first two are certainly classics of the whole chamber prog scene, but over time even they have really paled to the best of UZ.

And:  get more Art Zoyd.

I have their first 3 and Archiv I via eMusic, they're all pretty good but I like both UZ and Present more than their material so far.
