Is it possible to write a program to link music with a game such as Pong?

I mean, somehow like Leafcutter John could start a game of Pong.  Every time he returns the ball, random music is generated.  But when he misses, a different type of random music is generated.

For example, Major Chords for returning.  Minor chords for missing.

I know it sounds daft but it would make for an interesting experiment.

It seems like it is completely possible to do, who's up for some serious programming? Smile I've thought about things like that, and there are some games like that.

I really want that game.

Yep, I'm fairly sure it's already been done, in fact.

Randomly generating music with a game seems like a fun idea.  It would also make live concerts much more interesting, as they wouldn't use the same synths and such like.

In fact, I'm dense... I've played a game sort of like that before.  Not Pong but another one using shapes.

Bah, I'll put off listening to Henry Cow until tomorrow, I'm ready to go to sleep right now.  The album will still be here in the morning. Wink  Goodnight, everyone.

If everything goes better than planned, tonight I'll have a new cell phone and a sofa. My current phone is about nine years old and terribly needs to be laid to rest, and our sofa has been torn to shreds by our dogs...

The Led Bib samples didn't really impress me, and I don't care how many best of lists it's on!

I'm going to be working like 45 hours this week. :( At least I'll be getting overtime!

Stolas is nice (I could include it in my top 50, together with Jarrett Trio's Yesterdays, but since I listened to it on the day before the last of the year, I don't feel like counting it anymore), but Bar Kohkba did an even better album on the Xth.

Malphas (Feldman & Courvoisier) best of all, at least until the next three albums arrive next year.

5:18am! I'm going to bed now, but later I will read your response to this: Rico, what was wrong with the Book of Angels with Crakow Klezmer Band?

You stayed up an hour more than I did last night.

It's close to that sole Zorn album in which every piece, every technique, every motif was something he has done or incorporated in past works, while in that particular album it wasn't expressing anything of the same magnitude.

Here it's klezmer reinterpreted/reimagined as klezmer by a band that plays klezmer, and yet it was resoundingly dull. Even Uri Caine sounded better on the piano, with more experimental pieces towards the end, even if neither the solo instrument, nor Caine given the jazz he plays, are fully adaptable to (Zorn's) klezmer (at least not to my ears).

And Cracow K.B. happens to kick ass on Sanatorium, which again makes Balan way insignificant.

I think two Jehovah Witnesses ladies just stopped by my door, telling me to love (or be loving)  every day, and not just when I feel like it, as it is one of Jesus' commandments (they mentioned a specific verse, but it went through one ear and out the other that very moment). LOL

I never thought of buying metal for such practical purposes.

But now really: I didn't even reply my usual, about love being crap and such. I lied that I'm doing my best, and they still "oh no no no, you have to love each second of your draining life".

F.U. then, lady! Angry
