You must be referring to Invictus, the soccer movie.  Gran Torino is the one that was filmed in Detroit, and I have heard a lot of people give it some praise.

I'm starting to enjoy it. Used to loathe it, but one day my dad explained it its defence how much of a hooligan's game played by gentleman it is, that it shattered my reasoning.

Rugby? I do indeed
I usually end up missing it, although I catch as many of the international games as I can.

Ever been to a game?

A few world cup games, and a lot of state level Australian games. Usually once or twice every month.

Gran Torino is brilliant (if you're talking about the Eastwood movie, think it's called Gran Torino)
