Happiness is overrated.
Too many people now seem to think that happiness is purely based on the satisfaction of one's immediate needs and desires that the whole concept almost disgusts me now.

^ But does that really diminish the good of happiness? If you know that the path of instant gratification isn't the one to follow you would (or I guess I should say) you should follow a different path to happiness. Is that happiness any less satisfying?
As for the poll...I should of voted for life. Sure, some animals are annoying and decrease the enjoyment of life, but a few bad apples (at least comparitively) shouldn't spoil the batch. But life on the other hand...

I was hoping that one of the choices was going to be the band 'Nirvana'.

Love is definitely the most overrated.
Most people are capable of only loving themselves -if even that. Those very few people in the world capable of real loving will NEVER find a person that will "return the favor". So where does that "Love changes everything for better "-nonsense come from? And just when and where in the whole humankind's history love has really made this world better?

Happiness, as this thing doesn't exist. There only happy moments and that's all. Real life is far of what is considered happiness.

Jesus love maybe? How could love be overrated? Can you imagine our life without love? (the extended meaning of the word) Me personally, I can't.

Just because I believe it's the most overrated doesn't mean I don't think it's around, I just feel like it's probably the most overrated of the list.

I might have written that but was the fool not to obey a wise line/order. You people with the faith in "higher love" -carry on! (I would like to also, but... )

Love shouldn't be viewed in the romantic, marketed sense. True love comes from within, and gives you an appreciation for all things. That includes yourself. So, if your love is honest, all of the other things are taken care of.
The only one I would single out is sensory perception. This is what gets us into trouble. Basically your sensory organs take in information, and your brain attempts to decode it. This goes through all sorts of filters, including delusional thinking. So how can it really be trusted?

I think happiness is what is more overrated, because there are few goals towards pure happiness... all we want to do is pure instantly satisfactions... brief moments of happiness do not justify all the suffering... love worth... not happiness...!!!

I enjoy artistic expression and sensory perception (or altering of) very greatly, so I can't pick those two....

Hmm... I would definitely do not think that Artistic Perception and Sensory Perception are overrated, of course. Animals are sort of overrated; they aren't as noble and flawless as some people think, but some are really cute or taste really good. I would have to pick Love, or at least the romantic kind of love. The way society glosses over it really irritates me, and most love songs make me puke. "We will be together always"- yeah right...

I love how half of the people here apparently think I'm serious.
