Regarding this matter, I was kinda hoping The Whirlwind didn't have religious lyrics. It would have been fun to hear something else from Neal for a change. Fortunately, the lyrics of The Whirlwind aren't preachy, so it's really not a big problem. The main reason I'm hoping he would write non-religious lyrics sometimes is that I love the playful and lighthearted lyrics of the early Spock's Beard songs. God isn't as fun as Senor Valasco.

Well, I haven't posted here yet, so I will now  I'm not a religious person, but I love Sola Scriptura and ?. His other solo albums don't do a lot for me, though I've never heard the first two or Testimony. I don't like Snow much at all (gave it 2 stars), nor do I like Day For Night much, but the other Spock's albums are all good. V and Beware Of Darkness are great albums, and my favorites by them. The new TA is decent. I didn't like it much at first, but it has grown on me over time and it's in the mid to upper 3 star range for me. I'm not a huge fan of TA to be honest, though back when SMPTe came out I thought it was the greatest thing ever. I've change that view, though I still consider that one a 4 star album, and Bridge a 3 star album. Still, the Whirlwind is their most consistent and varied album yet, and sounds the most like a real collaboration. I find the lyrics more than tolerable, although the final section veers dangerously close to the kind of Morse lyrics I don't care for at all. My main gripe with Neal lyrically isn't so much the content, but the fact that he keeps on singing about the same thing. Probably why Sola Scriptura is my favorite, since it has a bit of a story that isn't completely focused on the fall/redemption thing that has been his only "concept" since Snow (I suppose the new album is different for not being a concept album, but aside from 3 songs I find it mostly terrible). Anyway, I acknowledge that Neal writes great music and is a great musician. I like the majority of his output and find some of it to be amazingly good.

I hope that Stolte will collaborate with him and do a 2 disc spectacular based on the beauty of evolution and the simplicity of it's basic idea (non random natural selection working on random mutation).
I love the fact that since I am here and alive - not a single one of my predecessors died before passing on their genes - everybody who lives is at the end of a long line of life's winners and thats a far more hair-raising fact than the made up "miracles" in the bible..........

I think that album is highly unlikely, and I think you are off topic (but I agree with you, nonetheless)

On that note, I wonder how he feels about portraying the "first man on Earth" on Ayreons Universal Migrator 1: The Dream Sequencer album.
Would he accept that role if he was offered it today?

I have wondered about that. It was before his conversion, so it's hard to say. He actually wrote some of the lyrics to that track as well, which is even more interesting. I suspect he wouldn't consider singing something like that now, but who knows really.
