Mine is actually a custom job, I asked a friend of mine to draw what I'd look like if I was a catfish.  (You know, Spock's Beard . . . I am the Catfish Man . . . )  So yes, I do kind of look like that . . . though less catfishy.

I always thought yours was really neat and instantly recognizable.

I tend to associate people with avatars heavily, so when people change it throws me off and makes them less memorable. In general.

Yeah he's certainly the first one who comes to mind as well.

Oops, forgot to check this thread for a few days.

Sorry Pablo, that wasn't meant as a knock on you, just an observation that I now expect your avatar to change frequently.

Thanks MovingPictures.  I may yet play around with the background, replace the blue with a picture of something, maybe something from my home town.

You won't believe which highly conservative (avatar wise) Art Rock collaborator just changed his avatar just like that after so many years! Shocked

I like stonebeard's current avatar because it's Carl Sagan.  One of my favorite books is Carl Sagan's The Varieties of Scientific Experience:  A Personal View of the Search for God.  This book taught me about astronomy, anthropocentrism, the possibility of extraterrestrial intelligence, and other fascinating things.
