Some really fine purchases there. Cool

Thanks!  I am finding some great stuff off of other people's posts.  It could take some time going through 90 pages though.  :)

*edit* moved to here because I just saw this thread Big smile

Since I just started intentionally listening to prog, I made my first trip to the used/new cd store to see what they had.  There were a lot of things they didn't have so I bought what I could find based on some earlier recommendations.
For under $90 I got:

Baroness- Blue Record,new
Porcupine Tree -The Incident,new

The rest are used:

Hawkwind -In search of space
Yes -Close to the edge
Return To Forever -Romantic Warrior
A Perfect Circle -eMOTIVe
The Moody Blues -Long distance voyager
Kansas -Super hits
Ozric Tentacles -Spirals in hyperspace
Ozric Tentacles -Live at the pongmaster's ball
Steve Roach -Space and time
The Sound of Animals Fighting -The ocean and the sun
Tool -10,000 days
Blue Oyster Cult -Tyranny and mutation
The Mars Volta -de-loused in the comatorium
Bjork -post

I ended up putting back some Jethro Tull, Boston and a couple others. I wanted to save money, and to limit my selections to things I have not heard yet.  I did see an english import of a 30 year Hawkwind anthology for $35...but too much for me today.  My wife was with me and I pointed out new copies of King Crimson's Larks Tongues and Red in pretty shrink wrap for christmas.  I looked for a few I couldn't find but the store I went to seemed to have a good selection of more obscure artists.

Where's the BEST place to get cd's in your experience?  I like having the cover art etc. so I limit my downloads in favor of hard copies.  I saw a turntable to cd converter at best buy and thought about starting to look for LP's as I saw a few interesting ones today.

November purchases :

The Whirlwind / Transatlantic (I'm a big fan of all Morse related works, but surprisingly, I can't get into this one. )
Natural Forces / Lyle Lovett (There are some really great moments on this one, especially the title track.)
D'Après Le Horla De Maupassant / The Box (An incredible take on the Maupassant's short story. This is even turning one of my friend into a proghead!)
Going For The One / Yes (My first Yes album. Very impressed, even if for some people, this shouldn't be the place to start.)

Glass Hammer - 3 Cheers for Broken Hearted

Didn't sink in on first listen except for a few tracks.  A few too laid back tracks.  Have to give this one more time.

IZZ- The Darkened Room

My first IZZ album and just listened to it once but it is wonderful on first impression.  They are selling it pretty cheap (I got it for $10.80, on sale from $12 at Laser Edge) so check it out.
Biggles was in rehab last Saturday

Haven't heard this one since the LP age.  Like the extra tracks a lot.

Haven't hear this one enough yet, but it's good.

The long lost "Mike Oldfield" album.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
