The capital punishment thread was bumming me out, so I decided to ask PA what I asked the Miley thread: do you think Fuzzy is really dead? The problem, of course, is that it looks very similar to a sleeping cat, but a recently deceased cat that was killed at the vet would probably look like that as well, so I cannot say for certain based on the picture alone. And while I firmly believe that there is somebody on the internet crazy enough to kill their cat for Miley's Twitter, there's probably only one, and it's probably me. Since I don't have a cat, we'll never know for sure, but I can conclude it's not her, since if it's not me it's probably a 12 year old girl who couldn't get away with murdering the family cats.
However, I would welcome any aspiring forensic technicians to carefully analyze the photos and give us their professional opinion on the matter if they disagree with my armchair psychology work.

No, goddamn it.
Pretty sure the cat is just sleeping. C'mon, I've never seen a dead cat, but really? BTW, you should make the link in the OP to the actual Fuzzy's Demise page. Edited by progkidjoel - November 26 2009 at 23:31 |

I couldn't vote for both so I chose "Henry you're taking the joke to far and I fear for you" over "no"

Since the cat was supposedly killed by euthanasia, there wouldn't be any trauma. However, that looks like a sleeping cat. My cat stretches out like that all the time when she sleeps. If it had been killed, it wouldn't have been stretched out like that, and rigor mortis would have probably been setting in by the time it takes to get home. Besides, who would stretch their dead cat out just to take a picture?

Joel, she took it to the vet, so it would have been a lethal injection. She couldn't very well just cut its head off, I think that would be animal cruelty.
Rigor mortis is an excellent point, I had not thought of that. But, assuming she lives close to the vet, she could have easily gotten home with an hour after the death, and the first few results from Google suggest that it's about three hours before it sets in.

It still doesn't explain why the cat would be stretched out though.

wait, the death of a fuzzy little kitty bums you out less than the execution of convicted murders/rapists?

As far as I know, we don't have any information about the site's owner. But I doubt a 12 year old girl would have the means and knowledge to set up a website.

As you implying that whomsoever runs the site is a 12 year old girl. |

Q: How could you eat an animal that has been euthanized? Weren't you affected by the euthanasia drug in Fuzzy's meat? A: Most euthanasia drugs, such as Pentobarbital, have a short span of activity. Also, their effect mainly depends on the mass of the recipient. Fuzzy's weight was approximately 4.5 kg. The portion of the drug in the parts of his flesh used for Fried Cat Strips was, if at all present, a mere fraction of the total amount injected into his body. Taking our weight differences into consideration, the total effect of this on my physiology was never supposed to be anything other than negligible. As a matter of fact, at the moment I'm feeling perfectly fine and I'm glad to report no aberrations in my health condition, not even an intestinal disorder of any kind! But I do appreciate the concern many of you showed for me! Q: Look! It's not the same cat! That one had stripes, this one has dots! A: I'm not even sure how to answer this. It's the same cat, and if you can't see it, well, I'm not sure how I can help you besides suggesting to take a better look, particularly on his face. You may also notice that the camera angles were slightly different. For example, his belly wasn't shown on any of the early pics. In any case, people who claim it's not the same cat are also the people who claim Fuzzy looked abused on his first pics. Like I said, you can't help everyone. Q: He's just sleeping! A: I'm sure it's difficult for most of you to fathom what happened, and I figured some people may choose to believe it's just a sleeping Fuzzy. If it makes you sleep better at night, believe what you wish. In a way, Fuzzy is sleeping. Q: Why haven't you posted any pics of the meal you made? Or any pics of Fuzzy being prepared in the kitchen? Have you chickened out? A: I didn't want to spell it out for you, but I guess there's no harm in doing that now. I have two words for you: Reasonable doubt. As an owner of cats, I can tell you: Fuzzy might just be sleeping. They rest like that. Stretched and in awkward positions.
And if somebody killed him, I vote yes on the other thread you just got tired from |

utter bullsh*t.. besides, no one who is that desperate to write stories would kill (let alone eat) a cat, it's just not the right profile

That's kind of looking like a happy cat. But I've never known of a spotted domestic cat.
