I was unaware this was happening personally. I just noticed this on his blog:

He also had this to say about our site:

Tartar Lamb was my least favourite Driver output (which doesn't say much), but this will still be interesting..

^Amen!
I ordered Kayo Dot's Choirs Of The Eye last week... Can't wait for it to arrive! Great to hear Toby likes PA () and that he's keeping up the brilliant work. A true genius. |

Oh, man! You're in for a real treat! I'm a bit jealous of anyone who's about to hear COTE for the first time. Edited by Anderson III - November 30 2009 at 09:56 |

^Sixty Metonamies is mainly a guitar and violin album with a bit of drums and keyboards to flesh out the sound. Closer to classical than anything else he's done and IMO better than his solo album.

Well I thought his solo album was terribly boring, so that's not a very high bar. ;-)

Sixty Metonymies is one of my favorites from Driver's compositions. I would put them in this order: Choirs of the Eye Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue Bath Part the Second Sixty Metonymies Leaving Your Body Map Blue Lambency Downward In the L... L... Library Loft My Fruit Psychobells... If we have similar tastes, I strongly urge you to explore the Lamb. Edited by Anderson III - January 01 2010 at 02:41 |

My guess would be that you wouldn't like Tartar Lamb then.

So apparently the plan is to get Greg Chandler from a British doom metal band called Esoteric to join Toby and Mia to perform vocals! This time there will likely be a featuring clarinetist too.
At this point it's unclear whether or not the new music will be released as an album, since Tartar Lamb isn't signed to any label. It will be performed live, though, but the duo needs financing if they are to record a second album. |

I'm not sure... I actually think 60 Metonymies has more in common with Blue Lambency Downward than Driver's solo. To me ITL..L..LL is at heart experiments with soundscapes and the methods of producing these sounds. BLD and Metonymies are both classically composed pieces with a lot of experimentation. They both feel like a long suite, though BLD actually is seven smaller compositions. What I'm trying to say is: 60 Metonymies feels like music... Driver's solo feels like something... |
