Okay, here goes:

*cough* Once upon a time...

Ah hell, here's a couple of my songs up for download: http://www.last.fm/music/I+Am+Three+People

Stunt Codpiece was born last winter when I took a challenge with my friend where we both had to make up a track from beginning to end during one weekend. What turned out was a pretty good piece of rock music with horrible flaws so I recorded it again shortly afterwards and updated it a little. I should do it again some day, there's very little mixing involved and a lot of rhythmic sh*ttiness.

The second one, Sour Milk in Heavy Weather is a brand new one born from a similar challenge which I put up out of frustration about getting nothing done all the way. I wrote it during one week a while ago and now I finally got it finished (so it seems at the moment, perhaps I'll think of something to tweak). There's some screw ups on this one as well, but sometimes I just let them be. Feel free to skip the outro if you're bored by it, it's really really long. That's one thing I just let be since I kind of liked it that way. This song features my all time first attempts at recording keyboards. The off rhythm piano part in the middle being the very first (you can tell), could have tried to record it again but decided not to bother.

Be the judge.

Back!

Just listened to Stunt Codpiece - Very good, and quite Porcupine Tree-ish at the same time... I like it!

Sour Milk In Heavy Weather - Also very Porcupine Tree, but also very, very good!
I like this more than the first track by a small margin, but both are very solid.

Which instrument/s do you play on these tracks?

Thanks!

Wow, thank you Smile These tracks are all by me, guitars, bass, drums and in Sour Milk also keyboards. I consider myself very much a clumsy amateur on all of them (keyboards especially, I've had one for a few months only and I haven't played it very much) but when I don't try to play too complex stuff I can make myself sound pretty good it seems Smile

One last bump before returning some day with a new song. I've got one piece pretty well demoed some months ago, perhaps I'll find time and will to complete that some day soon.

I've got a new track I'm working on at the moment, I'll bump this in case there's still some ignorant person left unconverted to my massive fan army. And so that I'll find the thread more easily when I've got some actual reason to update.

I've still got to work a couple of things out before I can start recording, hopefully by next week...

Indeed, great songs. Not knowing that it's you and project that started just year ago, I would say that you're some kind of established prog rock band. Very good one Pekka, you've made it.

More songs like these and who knows, maybe PA artist page :-)

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Oh come on Embarrassed Thanks Marty!

The new one will in a way be the heaviest of the tracks so far, the composition has been entirely guitar based. Let's see how I can spice it up with bass, there will probably be very few keyboard parts on it, we'll see.

Allright, finally I'm done with the new track. Three months, actually a bit over three months it took from start to finish, but here it is: http://www.last.fm/music/I+Am+Three+People

Free download, free stream, however you like. Please listen and comment Smile

It's the first song on that artist page, The Thripshaw's Disease, here's a direct link that hopefully works, as I just couldn't make the link to the track page work: http://freedownloads.last.fm/download/380620158/The%2BThripshaw%2527s%2BDisease.mp3

Thanks guys Smile This new track is the first one I've finished that didn't have a self-imposed time limit, so it's not a surprise some people have commented that this is my best one yet Smile

Thanks Damo! Last.fm tells me you listened to the two older tracks, if you enjoyed them you could give the new one a spin as well Wink
